Update.. I stand by my initial review! Also it took years and additional training before he carried my service dog. She really has no clue as to what she is talking about and is trying to "spin" an incorrect tale. I never miss represented my riding abilities they just lied about the horse. They said he was safe for a beginner and he was broke for trails. Neither was true. It took our trainer at the barn working with him daily to get him where he is today.. Yes he has an amazing personality and runs to me as soon as he sees / hears me and will follow me... we have an amazing connection but he was sold green broke at best to someone who didn't know how to ride! I got recommended to Friesian Marketplace after I lost my Friesian mare in October 2018. We gave Cheryl and Kelsey a call and my mom and I were very excited to travel to South Carolina from Kentucky to possibly find my next dream horse. I bought my Friesian Ellert at Friesian Marketplace. I hadn't owned a horse for 40 years and was very nervous about getting the right horse. I had seen videos on line of Ellert and fell instantly in love. I have admired Kelsey and Cheryl at Friesian Marketplace for a very long time. I had said to my friends before that if I was ever in the market for another Friesian I'd love to go through them. That time came sadly after I lost my first Friesian. I was scared to death to do it again but I love the breed so much I knew I needed to do it again. I had followed the Friesian Marketplace page for a long time and finally reached out. Cheryl and Kelsey at Friesian marketplace are so good at what they do. From our first phone conversation they were so informative and honest. My daughter and I went to South Carolina to meet them and their horses. I really like how they took the time to get to know my daughter, her riding experience, what she wanted in a horse, watched her ride each match and give honest feedback. My daughter narrowed it down to two horses the first day. The second day she was able to ride again and really talk with Cheryl and Kelsey who made it clear that either horse would be a good fit and clearly explained what we were getting with each choice. We left the following day and they allowed us time to soak in the experience and think about which horse, if any, we wanted without pressure that they would be sold. My daughter chose a 4 year old mare. I can't stress enough how Cheryl and Kelsey told us all the details and nuances of this horse. They even gave us a training sheet to pass on to our trainer and an information sheet with all sizes for things we may wish to purchase on our own such as blankets. We used the transportation service they recommended and it was a great experience. When we got her home, of course, I was nervous now that we were all on our own. She was a rockstar that day and has only gotten better in the two years we have had her. She is truly the best match for my daughter...her heart horse. My experience with Freesian market place was great! I found them after I lost my previous Friesian and wanted an intelligent, safe, well trained horse to replace him. I am 55 yrs old and a pretty good rider, but I've had a hip replacement and spinal fusion in the past and just don't bounce very well anymore!. The mare I bought from them has been fantastic! I was able to take her out on the trail by myself the day after she arrived and her dressage training makes her a pleasure to learn on! She also has the best ground manners of any horse I've encountered. The staff at my barn absolutely adore her and other boarders request that we trail ride with them because she is so calm and sane. I have been searching for the next show partner for awhile When I stumbled upon this place and saw the gorgeous horses that they had to offer for sale. I was lucky to have a friesian for 14 years and the breed is a perfect fit for me as I love their gentle soul and wonderful personality. I met them in early January and met Aiko... it was love at first sight not only for me and my mom, but my trainer too. He was the PERFECT FIT for me and what I was looking for. Since he has been here on my farm, I have lost my partner of 15+ years due to choke and I am healing still... Meant to be. Never in my wildest dreams did I think of ever owning a Friesian horse. I always thought they were beautiful but never thought I could ride one for dressage.
