Friern Barnet Library is a lovely purpose built library, it's architecture being in keeping with the surrounding area. Being all on one level it has good disabled access. It not a large library but holds a surprising amount of stock particularly adult fiction and also a good children's library and small teenage area. The library has 6 public computers which are free for the first hour of use each day to registered members, minimal charges are made to non-library members. The library now has a small coffee machine for the public to purchase hot drinks whilst they are relaxing with their newspapers or studying. The library has a small team of well trained, experienced staff who are always extremely friendly and helpful. This is my local library and although its status is only that of a small community library I think it is one of the nicest in the whole borough of Barnet! read more
