A friend found this spot and we came after brunch to play. We knew that we had to pay to play but, to our surprise, you don't need to pay if you come after 12pm. The park was pretty big, as far as number of courts. I remember there being about 12 pickleball courts but can't remember how many tennis courts there were. Since we came after 12pm, which is the hottest time of the day, there weren't many people using the courts despite it being the weekend. The courts seemed to be very well-kept. There are bathrooms a little walk away but you need a code to enter them. There is also a water fountain but would recommend bringing your own water versus drinking out of it. Overall, a wonderful park to play pickleball in if you're in Melbourne!

The people who go there pick up after their dogs (mostly), and everyone is friendly and you can tell their dogs are well taken care of. The dogs are friendly too, and a majority of owners interact with their dogs and intervene if play gets too rough, unlike other parks I've been to. The location is on the inter coastal so you can see the water as well as a several moored boats from the park, and there's usually a nice ocean breeze. My doggie and I couldn't be happier.

Here was not the case (at least on the day that I visited). The pavilions are also available to reserve for parties or gatherings. I would definitely recommend a visit to this park. Parks are an integral part of our communities. It is a place where we can gather with our neighbors in recreation and relaxation. Palm Bay, Florida is fortunate to have this particular park for its community. Again, I definitely recommend here and I give it five stars overall as my rating. Go see it for yourself.

Park amenities include a water fountain, playground, benches, large open space for play, and paved walkway. Along the path are signs giving suggestions of different activities kids can do as they go along. Some of the activities are to tell a story, jump, clap, skip, move, and read. I have never seen anything like this and it is a really cool feature of the park that sparks family interaction. The park's namesake, Troy E. Moody Jr. was born in 1925. His father, Troy Moody Sr., served as Indian River County's tax collector from 1932 to 1969. Troy graduated from Vero Beach High School class of 1943. He then spent three years in the Navy before going to a state college. After graduation he joined the Army and became a paratrooper. He was stationed in Japan before being deployed to Korea. He was serving as First lieutenant with the 27th Infantry Regiment when he died at 25 in a battle at the Naktong River crossing in South Korea on Aug. 11, 1950. A memorial plaque in his honor was installed in the park in 2012. An earlier memorial plaque was installed on the water fountain.

We hit off mats but I appreciated the different grass lengths of the mats to give you some variety. I liked the course. It was in good condition. Fairways and green were green and grass was well maintained. I played the green tees which were just under 5000 yds. The holes closest to the next door airport were so windy but on the other side of the course, there were enough wind blocks to make it more manageable. We played fast (which I love). All groups were moving along, even when walking. Carts did not have GPS. There was a decent amount of water and sand but it seemed fairly placed on the holes. As an added bonus, we saw a black boar run across the road on our way out. Liked this course.
