I learned about Bollman at the Cooper Hewitt Museum. As the oldest-running hatmaker in the country,…read moreBollman was part of the museum's "Made in America" exhibit. The kicker is, I was oblivious to having passed their factory outlet plenty of times while antiquing in Adamstown. On Saturday we took a drive to check out the store. The outlet is small, easy to miss, and shares a parking lot with Mad Hatter Antiques. The factory itself is located a mile or so away. (I wonder if they offer tours .....) As with any outlet, selections are limited. My first-choice hats were either too small or too big. Mediums were in short supply, but I didn't leave empty-handed. The woman running the shop is helpful and friendly. I asked why there were so many Kangol hats. (Kangol is a British company.) In 2002 Bollman bought global rights to Kangol incorporating British methods in manufacturing their products here in Pennsylvania. If you visit Adamstown, you might want to stop by the factory outlet, if nothing more than to see hats made by a company that's over 150 years old!

I never heard the employee speak to the other person and my friend and I walked past the employee multiple times talking about and trying on various hats. He never said a single word to us. My grandmother has thinning hair, especially on top, so she asked for some assistance with wig pieces. Although it took a few tries, the owner Song Lee did help us find the perfect match. The only thing that sucked was the price $59. I found a fun wig for myself while there (To try on wigs, you must buy a $2.99 wig cap) that was the same price as the hairpiece for $59. Although Song Lee did ask my grandmother if she wanted a wig for the same price, so she was trying to make sure she was satisfied with her purchase. So whether you have a fantasy to have blond hair down your back or a pink afro, everyone will find something here.

The first review is just plain stupid, I mean seriously?!…read more Reason why I give 1 star is is that I absolutely loved the service Deon gave me. Great kid! Adviced my boyfriend on what font to get embroided, and through and through was a pleasant person to deal with. If there wouldn't be the other employee Kevin. Kevin barged in on us a couple of times, interrupted us rudely, felt like his client who came after us should've been treated with a higher priority, argued in front of us like a little bad ass kid. Throughout the whole visit he repeatedly proved that he has a very negative attitude towards clients. Ruuuuuuude as Bon qui qui would call him..The highlight tho was that when we came in to pick up our embroided hats I commented to Deon that the lettering hiked up a little bit.. I repeat: I commented on it. In no way was I bitching and complaining. I noticed it, so I said something. Not thinking that little bitch ass Kevin would be insulted and getting involved by cooking over and rolling his eyes at me. Sorry dude but you could not only be my son, so learn to have some respect but also mind yourself that I am the customer that you should treat like royalty. I'm not one of your friends! If a manager would like to reach out to me I'd love to discuss this further.. Absolutely ridic. Again Deon was awesome. The hat choice is amazing. Just wished that there would be more Mitchell and ness hats besides the ones they had with nba teams..
