Our pre-school/kindergarten age group classes are more strict than some other gyms so you have to find what's best for you. Our beginner classes for kids 5-12 are focusing on the basics for success, we have three different pre-team classes so we can place a gymnast with a group that will be fitted to their needs, and we of course have our team program. We do not have a level 1 or 2 team as we train pre-team to move on to either our level 3 compulsory program or excel. We did a lot of shopping around and as soon as we walked into Mountain West, my daughter and I knew we found the place to call HOME! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with happy smiles! All the coaches and owners make my daughter feel like she is a part of the family. The Staff and Owners are all friendly and willing to help all the kids with whatever they need! When we went in for the introductory class on a Saturday, my son was hooked. The owner was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. The facilities were fantastic -- very large, clean and lots of equipment. The owner taught my son the basics, and we went in for three more lessons. My son loved it, and I want to join him next summer because it looks like a lot of fun. Some of the more experienced students were very nice in helping my son with tips and pointers. The class is a bit over an hour and there are anywhere from 6-9 kids in each class that I have counted. The one teacher for each class has the kids do a variety of exercises and the kids generally look like they enjoy the class. I noticed that the kids that need extra help may or may not have attention. The teacher shows them what to do and then lets them run through the circuit. If there aren't too many kids in the class, of course the level of attention is better. The prices of classes seem average. You get a discount for auto pay from a checking account. I noticed that there is a large number of highly skilled gymnasts that use the gym and it is inspiring to see advanced skills in the young kids who have been there for awhile.

But when the receptionist pressed for a reason, I calmly explained that it simply wasn't a good fit for my family. Her response? She told me my 3-year-old daughter was "too sensitive." That was not only completely unprofessional, but also incredibly inappropriate. I wasn't asking for feedback. I was trying to protect my child from an environment where the teacher was far too serious for a toddler and clearly not the right match. Swimming should be fun, especially at this age. Period. This place missed the mark, and then doubled down on the failure by dismissing a parent's concern. We won't be back.
