This is a local joint. I visit every time I come to town. Been coming since the previous location. Always a chill vibe. This time we came because I remembered they had food, so we came for dinner. The food and drinks were all at a great price. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. I thought they were going to come with beans and rice but it was just enchiladas. And that was perfectly fine! I got full on eating just ¾ of the dish. They were delicious and filled with chicken. A great meal! I can't remember what he ordered but it was pork in red sauce with rice and beans and that plate of food was gone within a matter of minutes. After dinner, we sat at the bar and had a few inexpensive drinks to start off the night.

This an odd space. On the street, you enter into a small cramped bar. Seems to be occupied by regulars who come to drink frequently. You would never know there is a place to eat on the upper level. If you are brave enough to climb the black metal spiral staircase, you will find yet another small space but fortunately, a few tables are located out on a balcony. Fresh air & the sounds of passing buses. The menu is simple but something for probably everyone. I have eaten dinner here twice. Both times, I ordered the French onion soup followed with a club sandwich & fries. No disappointments. The 1'st time I ate here, my bar tab was included in my bill. The 2'nd time, I was told the TWO expenses are separate. Really? I found that odd. No problem. Credit cards accepted. But prices are so cheap why bother? Pesos already in your pocket anyway. Service polite & friendly.

This was our favorite meal in PV! Highly recommend the bone marrow tacos. Service was perfect and restaurant had a familial, homey feel.

After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.

They use tanqueray as their house gin which is unusual but a pleasant surprise as it actually happens to be my preferred brand. I didn't have high hopes for the martini - I find that outside of major U.S. cities places end up putting in way too much vermouth - and it actually ended up being fantastic. It didn't taste too different from what I would make at home which is probably the best thing I could say about a martini (for my own personal taste). I tried a fruitier one - the Gigi - as my second and final drink. It was good but I'm just not a fruity drink person. I just wasn't equipped to handle another standard martini lol. The ambiance is phenomenal - it was both casual and comfortable yet classy. The crowd was much older than I expected although not in a bad way at all. There were lots of expats in their 50s and 60s. I was worried it would be a rowdy rooftop and by contrast it was actually a very chill vibe. Only complaint is that the bathroom is outside of the venue down the stairs and you need a key to enter, which was a bit annoying bc I wanted to use the restroom before I left and I forgot to ask for the key on my way out. Small annoyance and certainly wouldn't prevent me from going back.

The drinks are reasonable, but unlike Mr. Flamingos and a few other places they do charge a cover to get in on most nights. It's multileveled which can be fun especially with great music, dancers and drag performers in abundance. People are pretty friendly here, but not the most welcoming to everyone. They were pretty nice to us, just a touch rude to another group of patrons from what I saw while we were here - at least at the door. The bartenders are fun. The music is epic. High energy. Outside patio area is gorgeous. We didn't stay here long at all. We just didn't vibe with this hot spot as much as other places, but still a great place. And overall (at least in my opinion) it's not AS feel good as neighboring LGBTQ+ spots in PV. That said they have some great events, beautiful dancers and great club lighting.

You'll find people engaged in all sorts of activities ....eating, drinking, dancing, and socializing. Andale is the place to have a great time. Today, for some reason, the restaurants and bars on the street seemed less crowded. It was a Wednesday night when we finally stepped foot into Andale's. We ordered margaritas, shots of anejo tequila, and a beverage; we had already had dinner elsewhere. The DJ was playing a mix of 90s R&B, reggaeton, country, and pop music, and the whistle blowing from the staff added to the lively and exciting atmosphere. I must admit, though, the loud whistle blowing now and then annoyed me, I managed to drown it out somehow. If you plan to visit Andale, expect fun and lively atmosphere with plenty of staff ready to serve you.

The sidewalk actually runs right between their outdoor seating and the entrance, so you can't help but notice it. It looked relaxed, not too busy, and the staff greeted me as I walked by. I took a quick look at the menu, spotted my favorite tacos, and that was all I needed--I stayed. I asked to sit outside since it was such a beautiful day, with a gentle breeze coming through. Perfect setting. I ordered a beer, some guacamole and chips to start, and the al pastor plate. The guacamole was a great portion--easily enough for two--and I loved that it was chunky with a nice texture and "bite" to it. It came with chips and salsa, making it a solid starter. Then came the al pastor tacos... so good. At first glance, I didn't see any pineapple and thought, wait a minute... but once I took a bite, I realized it was mixed in with the meat--little bits of sweetness tucked into the savory, slightly charred pork. That balance of flavors really brought it together. Service was friendly and attentive, and I noticed a few regulars stopping by and chatting with the staff. That's always a great sign--it tells you this place has a real connection with the people who come here often. Overall, great food, great service, and a welcoming vibe. I'd definitely come back again.
