The pub is a must visit according to the Pembrokeshire Rail Travellers Association - Real Ale Train Trail Guide and features in one or two good beer guides also i.e. CAMRA & Hidden Inns of Wales. The pub is centrally located and sit's on top of a steep hill (definitely work up a thirst getting there) in Hill Street, near a cinema and a very good specialist blues & jazz record shop. It is an out and out drinking pub popular with the locals. It is quite lively and serves at least four real ales (Bass, Flowers IPA and two others). There are reasonably priced bar meals on offer as well. The building is Grade 2 listed and a former coaching inn, with a large coal fire in its interior. Enjoyed my pint(s) of Swizzle Stick by the Waen Brewery on the day down their with friends. Very quoffable beer & well kept too. It made for an excellent pre-cursor to the main event the Haverfordwest Beer Festival itself. Worth calling in if you are ever down that way west.

I felt most welcome; it was a relaxing atmosphere with friendly people (Hi all !!) and a great variety of delicious food. The sauces were 5 star on their own! I wonder if we could move it all to Florida. I hope St. David's shows up on my itinerary next year! Thanks for a great experience!
