Maro's is awesome!!!!!…read more I could not recommend this place enough. I went with a party of 5 and the service was great. They were very attentive to making sure we had a great time and enough sauces. I think a tale tale sign of a good restaurant is when they warn you that you're getting too much food, and Maro's did. We didn't care though bc we needed to try as much as possible. My friend had previously gone and they gave her a free salad, so once again bomb service. The food was amazingggggggggg. I'm salivating thinking about it. All of their dips (garlic mayo, hot sauce, humus) literally bussed down in my mouth. The eggplant and artichokes literally took me to heaven. They were so carmelized but once you hit into them, they melted away. I floated away to another dimension with them. Everything we got was amazing and my group was so gluttonous and I don't even care. We also got drinks and they were all amazing. Anyways I would travel back to Canada just for this and buss down once again.

Recent visits, I have found they refurnished the space -- it's now much darker, and several smaller tables fill the space now, whereas before, it was filled with long tables and you would be seated beside strangers for your meal. It had a different, lighter and more communal vibe before. Also on recent visits, the staff server are a lot younger -- still warm and welcoming, but with less urgency. So getting assistance takes longer. Although this makes for a nice slow meal, if that's what you're looking for! The food however, is still A+! It's the reason I keep coming back again and again. And why when friends come to visit, Maro's is always in the Top 3 places to try in Halton. They consistently serve up fantastic Lebanese food. If you're dining with a vegetarian -- they will be THRILLED with the options here! I daresay they lead with vegetables here. No one will be disappointed with vegetarian option here -- even the meat eaters. Be sure to check out their drink menu as well. Their cocktails -- and mocktails -- are great. Parking outside is all paid parallel street parking, since it's downtown Oakville. But if you visit on Sundays -- parking is free!

There were 16 different dips, fresh salads, rice, stews, lamb shanks, chicken and beef options, plus a warm soup to start. Everything was flavourful and well-prepared; a great way to sample a variety of dishes. The interior is cozy and decorated with beautiful Middle Eastern artisan touches, giving the restaurant a cozy and warm feel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, adding to the relaxed and homey atmosphere.

For a large table, that's frustrating. Nevertheless, with a bit of a wait, we got that sorted though it seemed to upset other hostile customers. The space is quite large and can accommodate groups if and when the area is not crowded. The problem is they don't cap the restaurant when it's at capacity. Decor is lovely, showcasing Arab traditions, which is a nice touch. Sometimes you get really good service, other times it needs work. Buffets require topping up, especially when expecting large crowds. It's not okay to keep accepting customers and then run out of food and have nothing to offer them. I've seen this happen and I felt discomfort for all parties; the patrons who came and left with hungry bellies and the staff who were embarrassed by this outcome. On two occassions I remember really well, the lineup was extraordinarily long and people were behaving in unusual ways; fighting over lineups, butting in, piling their plates high and leaving a lot untouched or not eaten and wasting food, not accounting for others and acting like it was their last meal. It was a literal zoo. By the time we made it to the chafing dishes, many were out. We tried some foods and found that some lacked flavour and taste and were missing the ingredients needed for the dish. Fettuccine was one of them. Food was average. A small number of dishes stood out. Freekeh was pretty good. I liked the butter chicken, though others did not. One person from our table liked the kusa and mansaf meat. I also enjoyed the mansaf but didn't manage to get any meat. We liked the hummus and mutabbal. I enjoyed the fatteh, it was a bit different from how my mama makes it. There was no dessert, coffee or tea offered. Shisha could only be had outside on the patio and during very specific times. Even if you wanted that, the space was too tight and would knock it over and likely cause a fire. Then a stampede would break out and good luck not getting trampled on..

It took about 25 minutes for them to make my food so if you're in a hurry do let them know. I ordered the halloumi sandwich and the mama shawarma plate The halloumi sandwich was perfectly soft and chewy just like really halloumi cheese even though it's vegan and made from tofu! They had recommended I order it and I am glad I did because it didn't stand out to me initially on the menu. The condiments in the sandwich went really well as well. I do highly recommend ordering this! The mama shawarma plate will satisfy any shawarma craving, of course while being plant based. The soy curls were perfectly seasoned and tender. The lentil rice went perfectly well with the soy curls and the sauce. The salad was tasty with vegan feta cheese. I highly recommend ordering this if you are a first timer. I had also wanted to order the cauliflower bites but they mentioned it was going to take too long to make since they had to make it from fresh so I often not to since I was in a hurry. I will definitely come back and order it next time. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you can order a few dishes to share!

Luckily I have a special lady friend who is also pretty killer at finding decent locations to eat and she brought me here. This is a very cozy but elegant cafe style restaurant. Orders are placed at the counter and then brought to you. While small there is definitely attention to detail in the decor (I just love the table patterns). My recommendation is to scope out the menu before you go but in all honesty you likely can not go wrong with any of your orders. Plus the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the meals. With meals that leave you full and prices that won't break the bank if you happen to find yourself in Oakville (or live there) and want some great vegan dishes this is definitely a must visit.

Everything is made in house and nothing is deep fried and no refined sugar used.....so no guilt happy eating. They have an extensive dessert display and I had the peach crumble bar which was yummy! I shared the cauliflower wings with spicy sauce and arancini with cashew "blue" cheeze. Both were tasty and satisfying. I wanted the potato soup with coconut bacon but found it slightly bland and it just tasted like coconut chunks in the soup vs "bacon" flavour(likely seasoning dissolved off in the soup). I had the warrior "taco" which was basically a lettuce wrap. It was very tasty but difficult to eat snd messy. The sun dried tomato flavour was so good. I love lettuce wraps but need to find a clever way of eating it more neatly. Hubby and friend had the chickpea burger with baked sweet potato and regular fries. We all left satisfied and happy

My favourite vegan/vegetarian restaurant so far…read more I appreciate that they use real ingredients and abstain from refined sugars... I ordered the: 1. Falafel bowl: The tzatziki sauce tasted exactly like tzatziki sauce using yogurt etc. The falafels are baked and not deep fried. Con for me was the price - $16 is steep. 2. Pumpkin cheezcake: Absolute must get. I prefer this to regular cheesecake - sweetened with maple syrup. The crust is made from dates and maybe something else. The coconut whip cream is a nice substitute for the regular whip cream. GET THIS. 3. Oat cranberry walnut cookie: Get this - end of story 4. Double chocolate sweet potatoe cookie: This was a bit odd; It was not as satisfying as the oat cranberry walnut cookie. However, I still devoured it. Service: The ladies behind the counter were very helpful, and patient with me. The kitchen seemed a bit slow, given the restaurant was only 20% full. If I'm in Hamilton, I will definitely visit again.
