They also stock a decent amount of Italian style groceries including cheeses & packaged D&W lunch meats. The only downside for me is they rarely have any organic produce(I've only ever seen organic blueberries). However they do have local produce in season & I got some heirloom Jersey grape tomatoes that were amazing! The fact that they're always busy attests to the freshness, quality & pricing of their goods. They do a lot of wholesale which I presume a quick turnover helps.

Marc's (Rising Sun Ave and Ruscomb 19120) was the best when I was a child. Then Dad's deli (2nd and Godfrey) made the best American hoagie during my high school years. Both places have new owners so I don't patron there anymore. I recently found R&R. They have $3.99 12" hoagie specials daily. I tried there turkey and cheese with mustard and the works! Amazing, especially for the price. The bread was chewy, just how I like it. Everything was fresh. I will definitely be going back to try more of their specials.

At $1.50 a piece, it wasn't that steep either. I also picked up some nice looking fresh ginger root for a little over $1/lb. This was a great deal, as ginger is so light and it hardly cost me anything. I did have to buy an extra container of grape tomatoes to get to the $8 minimum to use my debit card, but heck, at least they take them! Most other mom and pop produce stores don't, so I'm okay with that. Service in this establishment isn't particularly friendly or helpful. It's more of a "get what you need and get out" sort of place. Works for me. I wouldn't use this as an every day produce store just because of the lack of selection, but it's nice to have an option if the other stores I frequent are out of something.
