Geschmackloser Burrito ;( leider ohne Gewürze, Käse nur auf einer Seite ;() und was sollen die 6 kalten Chips? Ohne dip?ja,3,90€ extra

Sadly a disappointing experience- expensive, not friendly and non tasty ;( I wanted a quesadilla- he added 1kg of cheese And I asked for a Little less, cause I don't Want to get sick- he Kindly took 20g off; then the owner told me in an unfriedly way "When you don't like Cheese you don't get it. The quesadilla will burn and the flames will burn Everthing - either I add more Cheese or you get something else." I was a littled shocked And didnt Know what to respond, so I got a mix of it- cost 10,80€! Well, sadly taste was missing, so we added Salt And hot Sauce, unfortunately didnt get better ;( so, no recommendation ;( When you like to have Food your way- not the Place to go ;( Another sad detail: we saw 5!!! signs that said: "you Are not allowed to bring your own food or drinks" Tap water was 2€ I think... Serioulsy??? And the Place had 94 degrees! We were so hot, we had to leave early!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Viva Mexico!!

A very difficult place to rate, especially since all of my ratings are based on food alone. Slow…read moreTacos is different as value for money has to be taken into consideration. So, here we go: - Taste of food: 2-3 stars mostly. - Value for money: ZERO!!! This is the most expensive taco joint on the entire planet!!! Here are the details: - Homemade chili Kaesekrainer (cheese stuffed sausage) tacos - 3 stars and I'm being generous. Mostly bland and weird. Basically a breakfast sausage in a taco - wow, I wonder how actual Mexicans never came up with this novel idea! - Beef Short Ribs with Chimichurri tacos - 2.5 stars, and the .5 is because of chimichurri, otherwise it would be 2 stars. The beef is chewy, seriously over-done and without chimichurri mostly tasteless. That said, yet another novel idea - put chimichurri sauce (NOT Mexican!) on a beef taco??? Seriously? And it has something that resembles a jalapeno on top but tastes like a regular green pepper. Again, trying to be original but it is just plain weird. - Corn fed chicken with Chipotle marmalade and peanuts tacos - 3.5 stars but again weird because of the peanuts - remember all of this is served on a corn tortilla, so not the best combination if you ask me. And so not Mexican and/or authentic by any stretch of the imagination chipotle marmalade? WTF? That said, possibly the best taco on the menu. - Cheese tacos - 1 star. Melted wrong kind of cheese with avocado mousse and sweet roasted peppers. Really disappointing. And for only EUR 13.90 ($17)!!! - Chips and Guacamole - 3 stars for the taste of guac, very mild and no kick. 1.5 stars on the chips that are seasoned with some kind of bbq dry seasoning/rub - again WTF?? This is absolutely, hands down, the most expensive chips and guac in the world! For EUR 7.90 (US$ 10), not made table side and served in a shot glass sized thingy, it's absolutely ridiculous! TINY & EMBARRASSING!!! Yes, it's probably less than 1 oz of guac for $10. - Churros and Chocolate - 3 stars, mostly mah. Churros are supposed to melt in your mouth and these were over-fried, the chocolate was too bitter and just like all of the above combinations, it didn't work! - Corn tortillas - 2 stars - they didn't feel fresh and home made. Now to the value for money - as said, you have to be completely nuts, to pay EUR 13.90 (almost $17) for three tiny tacos that don't come with any sides (like rice and beans for example). Basically, this place is 2-3 times more expensive than it should be, if it served great tacos. For these kind of tacos, they are approximately 5 times more expensive of where they should be. So, we paid more than $100 for 12 small tacos (no side dishes), 2 beers, 2 lemonades, one coffee, one shot glass of guac with some chips and a small order of churros. None of this would be a problem if their tacos were great, which they were not. This is one taco joint I won't return to.

I am going back in time a little here... but when I lived in Vienna this was to only place to truly…read moreget Mexican food (outside of buying home made ingredients from some members of the small local Mexican community who made fresh tortillas, salsa, beans, and a few other items which they sold out of their house... and then I would make Mexican food in my tiny apartment). In fact, when I was there it was almost impossible even to get fresh cilantro. So after many months of missing these common American flavors and dishes (burritos, tacos, guacamole, chips & salsa, beans & rice, carnitas, and enchiladas), Estancia Santa Cruz was a welcome find. None of the food was up to American/Mexican Food standards, but it was pretty darned good for Central Europe. In fact, at the time, I had to go to Amsterdam for good Mexican food. That said, Estancia Santa Cruz is a lovely place to spend lunch or dinner. It has a large outdoor patio section that pleasant, a bar inside, margaritas, and vague versions of many of the dishes from the Mexican restaurants in the states that I so craved. Nothing really authentic, like Menudo, but still, plenty of craved after flavors. We had guacamole (which was pretty good), the Serrano ham plate (very Spanish and odd for me in the flavor profile but still yummy), I also ordered a big wet burrito expecting the typical American Mexican slop plate that we get almost everyplace (the same bins full of premade stewed meats distributed over various treatment of tortillas and covered in rice, beans, sauce, and cheese. But in Austria, the slop concept obviously wasn't so well received, so my plate was well ordered and compartmentalized. Still, it was tasty. My girlfriend got the quesedilla, which was huge, but a little dry, We almost ordered the Paella, which looked great, but we were a Mexican place so I didn't want to get too much Spanish food (a cuisine commingling that happens all to often for my taste... Mexican is Spanish and Spanish is Mexican.. I don't buy it). After dinner we both had flan which was good. There are more Mexican places in Vienna now, and better ones. But there is something irreplaceable about Estancia Santa Cruz: may the garden: maybe that is is on the fair grounds of Prater Amusement Park, like a more commercial Austrian Tivoli. Maybe its because I got a little drunk and had so much fun. But the authenticity of the food aside.... this is a fine place.

I really like this place for several reason, as this of course was not my fist time here…read more It is really well located, about 1km into Prater itself, so nice and quit and full of life and greenness all around. Lots of place outside to sit and enjoy nature. The service is impeccable. I like that the waiter are all Spanish speaking, although you can also order in German or English. The Menu has a huge section to choose from. The food is fantastic and fast. Inside has a lot of space for both smokers and non smokers. My only one negative point would be the toilets, they are very small, dirty and discussing. try to avoid using the toilet there if you can.
