My last day of volunteering as an Early Election Judge at Fremont Library in Mundelein Library.
Pam D.

WOW! As far as libraries go, this one is outstanding! It is almost like visiting an upscale bookstore with a coffee bar (not actually a coffee bar but, a keurig machine!). Everything is well organized and one can easily browse DVD's, books, cassettes, enjoy a private conference room, WIFI while overlooking the natural prairie adjacent to the library. Even if you are not a resident of Mundelein, I recommend visiting the library for the experience.

Enough study tables for everyone and an outlet near each table!

I go here a lot to study. They have a late of room for people to study on the second floor. They even have private study/meeting rooms & a large quiet study room. I often sit on the tables along the large window that overlooks the pond. It's real easy to find an electric socket there almost at every table. They have a computer lab room & a bunch of computers right outside the lab. If you don't have a library card, use the guest account & type guest for the password you should be able to get in! This library doesn't allow food inside, only covered drinks. They do have a room on the second floor where people can eat & buy some snacks or drinks in a vending machine.

Easy to follow layout, friendly employees, and many resources. Large, nice building with plenty of parking too. We will be back!

Nice library. A little crowded, but it's huge and they seem to have anything that you could possibly want.

It may not compare in size or architectural design to the Seattle library, but the Lake Forest…read morelibrary offers the traditional library experience: cushy leather couches, high arched ceilings, hushed studies, and dense shelves of endless tomes. Let not the stately, historical exterior fool you; this facility is all sorts of state-of-the-art from the materials they carry (e.g., current DVDs) to the technologies they employ (downloadable e-books). I can't help but always be impressed and pleased at having access to this library as a local resource through the parental units. Walking through the doors here inevitably leads to happy feelings!

Besides the wonderful children's section that continues to be a highlight of our week, I've been borrowing books on CD. They have a decent selection and the front librarians can point you to the ones worthwhile to check out. I spend a lot of time in the car and these have been a lifesaver. I've also gotten addicted to checking out books online. Yes! This library lets you borrow E-books from the comfort of your own home. Perfect for us parents who are on the go and don't have the ability to pursue the stacks on our own time. The library offers multiple study areas and free wi-fi. Yeah baby! So you can set up for the day if you need to get some work done ... But quiet library etiquette is still the rule so put away that annoying cell phone! Also, if you need a book and the library doesn't carry it, the reference desk is extremely helpful in getting an inter library loan for you. I can't tell you how many crabby librarians I've had to work with at other libraries. But not here! They're all helpful and approachable. Oh. And they're on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. However you need to reach them, they're there. One minor thing -- I do think it's time for them to update the adult media stacks from a decor standpoint. But really, I'm so please to call the Lake Forest library my home library.

We've come by to visit their book sale, stroll around the library, and they have tons of great resources in both Spanish and English to support the community. They have great tech resources that you can book time to use too, I have yet to use them yet but so cool to know it's available. They also have a silent working room if you ever just need a change in scenery but need the silence to work. They're under renovations for the kids area, but can't wait to see how it all comes together this summer!

This library has something for everyone and that makes all the difference. I enjoy how organized…read morethey are. They have great programs for kids. Went to two different story times for babies and then one for three year olds. My daycare children were engaged with the different songs and activities the librarians provided. The library has a wide selection of books, dvds, and cds. They pretty much have everything you are looking for and if not they are always willing to help you find it or do an interlibrary loan. The library has different sections one for little kids, elementary ages, teens, young adults and adults. Love the distinction between the areas. The librarians are all friendly and helpful. You could spend a lot of time in there.
