No air conditioning but the windows open up German style on the top & you can cool off that way. Best of all, this hotel included the use of their green "hotel" bikes to explore the many fine bike routes in the area! Close to the riverwalk area. Many radlers (bicyclists) use this spot when travelling long distances. Excellent service (English is spoken here as well as many other languages by the staff)

I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting family in Germany and had a great experience. While…read morethe rooms are a bit outdated, with basic décor and need some revamping, the hotel is clean and has all the necessary amenities, including a great breakfast buffet with a huge selection of fresh fruits, breads, eggs and spreads. The hotel also has a large parking lot right in front of the building as well as a spa (we didn't visit due to Covid-19 restrictions) and a very well-known restaurant serving traditional German fare. The prices are fair. The check-in desk is open all night but on a few instances we had to stand outside and ring a doorbell multiple times before getting in, which was a bit annoying under the freezing winter temperatures. One thing that we really liked and found very original: each room is equipped with a brown paper bag inviting the guests to hang it outside their door every night if they would like to forsake the cleaning service and help them be more environmentally-friendly. As a thank you, their staff will fill the bag with local products, chocolates, wine and various other small gifts. A truly brilliant idea

It's a very nice view. In the morning the valley below is filled with mist giving it a dramatic look. The check in desk is located to the left of the entry. After the late crew leaves the night staff appeared to consist of one person. He was gracious, friendly and informative. There is a lift. I didn't use it preferring to take the stairs. There is also a pool and sauna but only open from 16:00 - 22:00. There is a restaurant that was closed when I got there. It's open 15:00 - 22:30 Monday to Saturday. There is also a bar in the front lobby. It's to the left of the entry. It's part of the check in desk. You could sit in the lobby and have drinks. Payment for the drinks was immediate and cash only. The dining area is one flight of stairs up. They provide a full breakfast. My room was comfortable with a single bed. It was quiet and comfortable. There was a television. Wifi was available. Not one person in my entire party could get the wifi to work. There was also a terrace. The bathroom was adequate. It had a shower with a curtain. When the shower was on the shower curtain blew inwards and stuck to me which was somewhat annoying. The water was nicely hot. The hotel is also dog friendly.

This summer I stayed with my sister for 10 wonderful days in the Liz Suite…read more Everything from booking to checking in was smooth and easy - now even easier with online booking! Alexandra the property owner was very friendly and easy to deal with - It was great that she spoke English - because my German skills aren't the best! The suite itself is really more like an apartment than a suite and it is absolutely beautiful - it looks just like the photos online! The suite is quite large - 96 square meters or 1033.33 square feet! The suite was so big we could entertain our friends, something we couldn't do if we had stayed in a hotel. The building the Liz suite is located in was built in 1601; the inside is modern but still maintains an old world feeling with the exposed wood beams and bricks. The listing doesn't say it, but I'm pretty sure it has air-conditioning. It was very hot in Aschaffenburg this August, the high eighties and nineties Fahrenheit - and every time we came back to the suite it was very cool! The street the suite is located on is very quiet, although you can hear the local church bells - the closest being the Stiftskirche Sankt Peter und Alexander - the bells are not so loud to annoy. I really liked hearing the church bells myself. The location of the suite is close to the city center; a 10 minute walk to the Schloss Johannisburg and about a 5 minutes to the Herstallstraße fußgängerzone. It was very easy for our friends to pick us up and drop us off. My sister liked the very large terrace, she would sit outside on the sofa in the morning and drink her Nesspresso - did I mention there was a Nesspresso machine? Although the kitchen was small (which suited us), it included: glasses/dishes, pots, pans and cutlery. Also, in the cupboards were some spices. Appliances included two induction burners, small refrigerator, Nesspresso machine w/frother and an electric kettle. The suite is open planned, which I loved - reception, kitchen and dining area all in one. There was a nice TV sofa and chair with two large windows that let in a lot of light. The wire light chandelier was wonderfully beautiful - and light could be dimmed if wanted. There is also a wood burning fireplace that we did not use - too hot to use. Lastly there is a There is a gorgeous sauna, which we did not use due to it be so hot. However we did use the shower in the sauna room that had four shower jets - one on top and three on the wall - having an extra shower was helpful for getting ready in the morning. The bedroom was very nice, a comfortable queen size bed with wonderful linens and down comforters, two night tables. There was a small TV on the wall behind the door and two closets with equal space, which worked out perfect for me and my sister. We were also able to put one 25 inch suitcase in the closet; my 26 inch would not fit so we stored it behind the bedroom door. There is also a chest of drawers in the relaxation/lounge room. The en suite bathroom was to die for; a super large bathtub that could easily fit two adults - my sister loved taking a bath in it! There is also a large walk in shower and heated towel rack. In addition there were two sinks - yeah - and space to store our toiletries. The towels provided were very nice. There were bathrobes and slippers provided as well as a blow dryer. All windows had electric shutters which was nice for added privacy and safety - although we never felt unsafe. It's funny that all of my German friends never knew about Stiftgasse, or the Konventchen Bed and Breakfast. They all fell in love with the suite, and are now going to recommend it to their respective friends and family! The Konventchen Bed and Breakfast is a jewel, and I am lucky to have found it - thank you Alexandra for an oasis in Aschaffenburg!
