I've been a customer for our auto ins for years, I had left them…read morein the early 2000's and came back in 2022, they are a bit pricey but I was ok with that since they offer the higher limits. Whelp the most awful Thing happened 12/17/25, I was in a horrible accident & my truck was totaled! I gave Wawanesa grace since it was coming up on the Christmas holiday but once 2 weeks passed and no response from adjusters I started to worry as the rental coverage is only for 30 days & I had no vehicle that was being repaired! Well my Worst nightmare came true! The total loss adjuster assigned to us was dragging her feet, never contacted my finance company even though she lied to me on several occasions that she had!! I she had told me over the phone on a Thursday that I would have a check the following Monday & that day came & was gone & it took another 10 days to actually get our funds due us to go replace my vehicle! I would call my finance company daily to see if they've given the payoff to my Ins company & for 2 weeks was told they have not been contacted!! Of course my rental ran out, Wawanesa refused to extend even though THEIR incompetent adjuster didn't follow thru & I literally was doing all the leg work to get my payout to purchase a new vehicle! I ended up paying out of pocket a total of 10 days at $50 a day, thank goodness the rental provider extended the rate to me or I'd be out more money due to Wawanesa's failure to do their job! As of today our loan check to our finance company has still not been recd, it's been since 01/24. So not only did Wawanesa force me to incur over $500 in charges for a rental, my credit is also taking a hit !! I am so disappointed & have left msg for managers with no return call or explanation! I am shocked at Wawanesa & so upset that we pay our ins policy, mind you it's not cheap in CA & with the way things are in the world with ins right now & then to be treated with such arrogance as if we are asking for a favor!! If I could take my business elsewhere right now I would but again the state of our ins premiums in CA it's not easy to move to another ins provider with the same coverages. I feel stuck & not happy at all! I would never recommend Wawanesa ever again!! Wawanesa do better, train your total loss adjusters to have better customer service skills & to return calls to customers & to do THEIR jobs!!! I don't know how many days I spent on the phone leaving msgs, calling my finance company, calling the adjuster back to be lied to & in the end what I was trying to prevent, happened!! Do not go with Wawanesa!! Btw I was not at fault & had major neck, back & arm Injuries all the while dealing with MD appts, therapy, PTSD from The accident & hiring an attorney due to the other party (at fault) not having enough coverage to pay off my vehicle & then I had to deal with the stress Wawanesa caused me. I was literally in tears daily trying to contact anyone at Wawanesa to help us!! I am thankful to be alive, but not thankful for the stress caused by my own insurance!! Go elsewhere!! Not worth the headache they cause their own insured!

Following my previous review (dated 7/11/25), I was contacted by Michael Fusco, who expressed that…read morehe didn't believe I was being "fair" to his staff. I took the time to explain, in detail, where the service had fallen short. While he initially interrupted me several times, he eventually allowed himself to listen and expressed empathy - ultimately agreeing with my concerns - he made an unprofessional comment about one of his own employees that I won't repeat here out of respect for that individual's dignity. During the call, he asked whether I coach or facilitate people in his position. I declined to engage further and offered to refer him elsewhere, as I had no desire to continue doing business with this organization in any capacity. Michael said he would personally handle my cancellation and sent me DocuSign documents to finalize it. He followed up via both email and text to confirm receipt. Unfortunately, several hours later, I received an unsolicited package at my home address - an address I had only provided for business purposes. This felt unprofessional at best and unsettling at worst. Today, I received another text from Michael's personal phone number, stating he had not received my cancellation forms, despite confirming their receipt in a previous message. I reiterated that he had already acknowledged receiving them, asked him not to send anything further to my home, and requested that all future communication be handled via email only. His response: he now had received the forms (again, contrary to the text he'd just sent), and that he would no longer keep me "informed." He then added a sarcastic remark questioning my knowledge of how an LPR works, referencing the industry he believes I work in. I again asked him to stop texting me. Shortly after, I noticed he had viewed my LinkedIn profile - further blurring the line between professional correspondence and invasive behavior. I'm writing this update because I now feel harassed. Despite my repeated, explicit requests to limit communication to email and to respect my privacy, those boundaries have not been honored. This has shifted from a poor customer service experience to something that feels personally invasive and aggressive. Please beware. I sincerely hope no other customer is made to feel this way.

No knowledge of what's actually required to register a vehicle /chp verification and forms.No…read morereceipt for charges ,or estimate of costs and when he screwed up my paperwork costing me 5 hours and 10 weeks time wasted he refused to refund my over payment .He charged me $145 saying he had to go to San Marcos when his office is .5 from dmv Clairemont .He made many mistakes on my paperwork as noted by Chp and dmv .These registration places I found out are untrained by dmv so knowledge is severely limited .Once I found out he wouldn't answer my calls anymore or refund my $ so going thru my bank and small claims to reimburse .Dont use them

Charles not only lacks the knowledge of what's required to register a vehicle, but he also refused…read moreto refund my $145 overpayment.He against my judgement decided to write down the model number for the engine number( clearly incorrect)all because he didn't know where to find it.Them he filled out the paperwork a second time by listing that he had proof of a registration card ,which was also Wrong( it wasn't even registered,had No plates !! ) what i did provide was a legally signed bill of sale ,that he chose not to provide( again against my decision) well because of his mistakes dmv sent me to CHP now .They also highlighted his mistakes and requested a reg 124 form.Which he was oblivious to and did not provide to me.I had to wait 4 weeks for the appt and when I got there the officer explained to me ALL of Charles mistakes and said now I have to go have DMV reinspect it correctly and fill out reg124 ,which I waited in line 30 min and had done,then I went inside to dmv and waited 45 min to receive a reg 124 but still had to return to CHP to fill it out.So I drove all the way back to CHP waited 30 min and was told ,I needed to make a NEW appt w CHP ( which is another 30 day wait )When I called CIO registration 3 x and 0 answer I knew I was in trouble.Charles said just write me a check for oh say $250 to reg and title,I thank God said WHAT it's a $100 vehicle how can it possible be that much ,he said well I just have to make sure I have enough,so unagteeably I wrote for $200 and he said he would refund if over .Well it was over by $145 and he is now after wasting 5 hours of my time ( filling out paperwork incorrectly)AND 8 weeks waiting for CHP appt.Both DMV and CHP pointed out that some of these reg services are totally clueless as they have NO formal training !! DO NOT use CIO insurance I'm taking him to small claims and my bank is reversing funds
