Allstate Insurance: Dan Chambers - Enjoyed connecting with my Allstate peers at the 2019 Midwest Region Agency Forum!

Allstate Insurance: Dan Chambers

I used to have Geico insurance for my car, but when I bought my house, Allstate had a better deal…read morefor both home and auto. So, I was saving money every month, but honestly, the hassle I've had to deal with for the past six months has made me wish I never changed. Some of this is Allstate in general, and some of it is Dan Chambers office specifically. When dealing with Allstate with both my car and my house, I have found incompetence at every turn. If I would talk to one person about something, 5 minutes later I would get a call from one of their other agents, trying to resolve the problem I had already resolved, or with a new problem I had to solve. These people don't seem to be trained in how to communicate with each other so that all of the information on a claim is in one place and can be accessed by everyone else. I was in a car accident and 1. The road side assistance agent had my car towed to a Jiffy Lube after the entire front end was caved in. This led to me being on the phone for 2 additional hours, once the Jiffy Lube wouldn't accept the car because they knew they weren't qualified to work on it. And then I had to try to figure out where else to have my car towed in a city I didn't know while I was an hour away, because Allstate seemed to have never serviced someone in downtown Chicago and had no idea where my car should go. 2. After my car was finally taken to a body shop the tow driver suggested, one of a chain that Allstate has an agreement with, I had to contact the Allstate's inspector and let them know that my car wasn't at this third location they had scheduled an inspection at. I guess because Allstate can't tell their inspectors where they had cars towed? There has also been a lot of confusion and lack of communication surrounding my house insurance, especially when I was forced to replace my roof, which I was planning on already but didn't quite have the money yet. And then once I did, my policy still says my roof is several years old? Because I guess the people who required me to get a new roof can't extrapolate that this means they need to change how old my roof is in their system. So, in general, I have learned that you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to insurance. I guess next time I'll know that saving a couple bucks a month isn't worth the headache of dealing with the lower quality service that comes with it.
