What an absolute, fantastic challenge white water rafting down the River Tay today.
We met at Freespirit, Grandtully for this adventure. All you need is your swimming costume, a towel and a pair of old shoes.
Our two guides today were Scott and Marcus who gave us a safety talk and helped us get kitted up with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets. We were driven in Land Rover Defenders to Aberfeldy where we got into our raft and the fun began. 7 1/2 miles of raft river games, river information and an overall exhilarating experience. We were encouraged to enjoy, engage and free our spirit (pun intended). I loved jumping from the raft into the Tay, floating down the river. You are left in a serene atmosphere where the only sound is the movement of the water. It is a fun experience for even hesitant swimmers, as you don't need to be able to swim as the buoyancy aid keeps you afloat.
This was the most fun I have had in a long time. Our guide, Scott, was engaging and instilled confidence in our team and himself. I felt totally at ease and safe even though we rode down the bumpy rapids and I screamed from the excitement of the moment. It is an experience of a life time, leaving you wanting more from the adrenaline that pumps throughout your body. Xoxo read more
