Sir Charles Lanyon built this hall in 1869. The Belfast MP was also a lodge Grandmaster as well as being the architect of Queen's University amongst many other buildings. The club is still in use by over one hundred lodges and by Donegall Masonic Club. It has been home to Donegall Masonic Club since 1878, one of the oldest clubs in Ireland, named after the Marquees of Donegall. The building was recently refurbished and is now a delight and pleasure to look at on Corn Market. There are many interesting historical stories relating to this hall which has seen so much of Belfast's history both in and around its walls.
