My Domicile is in Siesta Key, Fla. I stay here 7 months a year and have filled out the domicile form for Sarasota County, have a Florida drivers license, doctors here, Homestead my Condo, etc. etc. I even gave them my prior year returns for both Federal and Michigan!! and they didnt know they had them, but later found them. Anyway, she told me I had to pay Michigan tax when i'm a Florida resident and have been for years.. She said I have to allocate the income from my 401-k , etc., because I spent 5 months in Michigan! LOL...It was sad.. Thats a pretty simple thing. If you live in Florida for 183 days, which is 6 months and a day and have claimed residency in Florida YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY MICHIGAN TAXES!! Millions of people do it, yet Anna, doesn't know this. It's amazing really. I have a call into the manager, Tim White, but no return phone call.... Now I have to find someone else. My first experience with H&R Block.... all I can do is shake my head!
