He advised this would be hard for him as the shopping itself was a struggle. The clerk advised he could self check out or wait 30 minutes until 9 am to get his groceries. She wouldn't even help him self check out....how shameful, where is any form of customer service and respect for our elders. I was ashamed over hearing the interaction and blatant disregard for the assistance he needed. This poor old man left with no groceries after the 35 minutes he stated it took him to shop for his groceries. Safeway would rather you leave empty handed than show any courtesy, customer service, or respect. Shame on you Safeway, do better.

The Cascade Highway even has Street View, a sure sign of its significance! It's a down to earth convenience store, cold beer and soda, plus some odd home table decorations and sundries. Portapotty. It's in an historical building, originally the country store for Liberal, Oregon, selling "Hardware, Dry Goods, Groceries, Boots and Shoes". It's over 100 years old! So if you are in the neighborhood, it's a good spot for a cold one!

A suggestion I have though is discounting fruit as like a special of the day or something if it's going bad that way you can get rid of it faster without wasting it. The mangoes were 4/$5 but had I known they were too ripe I wouldn't have gotten them.

The one we picked, the seeds were hard, and I have to use a nut cracker to get them opened, and they were tasteless! On the other hand, we also bought a Purple Popcorn, packaged by the Amish group. The 2nd time we popped them, I could tell the difference, between the popcorn we're used to and the purple popcorn. They TASTED like you're eating cobs! Even if we used the same technique in popping them, and using the same olive oil, minced garlic & some salt for flavoring. (We took them to the squirrels in Molalla, during my event there!)
