Hired Liz Marcus last year to get me a deposit back for a lease that the landlords backed out of. She was super scatter brained and I pretty much had to tell her what to write. Well needless to say the other party laughed at the letter. Hired a new company to write a letter and I had my deposit back in a couple of days. Liz Marcus also charged top dollar for that letter (over 1k for a couple paragraphs). There was a touch of shadiness I felt during the whole process too. I needed a will and had put off doing it many years because I know nothing of legal matters. I chose this firm because of good reviews on the Nextdoor site. I'm very happy that I did. They respond quickly and talk you through the whole procedure, explaining and answering all questions. They want you to understand completely. They make suggestions and give choices. I never felt I was being pushed in any decisions and they made it clear that they wanted to do it the way the client wanted it done. I highly recommend this firm. read more

I'm guessing this company might be better for folks with a large case which equates to more money and hence, likely more attention. But for small matters, you'd be best served looking elsewhere. They will stretch out your issue, billing for every small increment of time, and after awhile, for me, it got tiresome getting billed every month with no progress in what I felt should have been a simple matter to resolve. read more

Could I be more disappointed in the representation we received? No, I could not. In my opinion Attorney Smeenk did not do a good job for us. I did write a very negative review, and then was contacted by Atty. Smeenk. He was disappointed that I had written a negative review. I have replaced that negative review with this more moderate and considered review. I do believe that we did not get the representation we expected. I personally regret using him as our attorney. Unfortunately, when in need it seemed the only thing that mattered to Caroline was money and tricks. When asking if we could be given only 5 minutes of consultation time, without accessing our retainer to see if this practice was best for us, we were denied. After seeing multiple reviews that stated this firm uses their "consult time" to dig into the money you set aside in the retainer and then never move forward with your case I felt it necessary to mention this and ask for that small period of time. I, myself, have previously retained a lawyer for a different case and cannot believe that this is their business practice. I spoke with my previously lawyer without concern, and noted that each time we spoke he was trying to do what was best for me and my wallet. Just for you all to be aware our heat was turned off in our home by our landlord. He is discriminating against me because I work for Boulder Community Hospital trying help our community with the Corona Virus outbreak. He believes I will get him sick because we have a shared/but separated residence. I have now been without heat for two days and apparently the 5 free minutes I needed to ensure this law firm was right for me isn't worth it to them. So now I've wasted DAYS of time working this out only to be dropped. Now I will remain in the cold with my two dogs because I cannot afford to go anywhere else and our retainer refund has not been issued yet. This company has let myself down and I believe many others who would do anything to help a healthcare worker at this scary time for our community. TLDR: This firm is in it for the money and not you. If you believe you deserve quality treatment from a law team that treats you like you're worth more than just a paycheck I'd look somewhere else. read more

Wow, what a rip off artist. I was referred to them by a realtor friend to handle my for-sale-by-owner. She estimated it would cost about $500. I called to retain them and both Zachary and his assistant told me my retainer of $500 would probably be more than enough and I would get a refund. I handled all document transmission to the buyer myself. Then I received another bill for $221 including billing me for things like conversations between the lawyer and his assistant. Then I received another bill for his time when he called ME to ask ME how I wanted him to handle the transaction! True scammers. Don't, don't, don't use them for your transaction. read more

After giving the $500 deposit(for $275/hour) Ben Daniels met with me for 40 minutes(after being 30 minutes late). After not moving forward, Ben had nerve to charge a total of ~$625 despite not doing any more work than initial 40 minute meeting and writing 1 quick email in response to a call. I worked with Oliver Frascona many years ago in buying a property that had been bought and turned over to seven partners who subsequently all went bankrupt. The title was a mess, with complications of tracking down the new owners, getting signatures, negotiating with lien holders to have the amounts lowered so the house could be sold. It was an amazingly complicated system, and Mr. Frascona navigated it with ease. This was over 20 years ago, and I have no experience with any other partners. But I was impressed (and a little frightened of) Mr. Frascona's expertise in the matters of real estate and foreclosure law. read more

We hired Cinthia Manzano of Frascona Joiner to file suit against a construction contractor for a latent defect in construction of our property. The issues were complex, including possible time barred defenses, issues of proof and other matters that complicated our case. She was thorough, professional and tenacious. She has a command of Colorado construction and litigation law that saved time and outmaneuvered the opposition. Her deposition techniques completely flummoxed the other side and its witnesses so that we essentially proved our case via their testimony. She also was instrumental in assisting us in hiring the best expert witnesses that we could have so that there were no holes in our case that. She 'won' virtually all of the motions that were presented to the judge, again completely overwhelming the other side with her preparation and presentation. After almost 2 years of stonewalling and delay by the other side, we achieved a settlement where virtually all of our claims were paid in cash. Cindy was aggressive when she needed to be, but tempered when that called for, exhibiting a sense of when to push and when not to. She counseled us along the way so that our expectations were always managed expertly. We have the highest praise for the job that she did and were absolutely satisfied with the result, the cost of getting there and the attention that we received from Cinthia.
