I got a tiny Krementz brooch which ended up being my downfall because I came back a few days later to get some vintage/retro sterling silver brooches. The lady gave a little history on some of the rare items - so it made the purchase even more special. I popped in thinking I would just look at the shinies and not get anything. I was so wrong. The owners are wonderful and friendly and showed me lovely pieces, all reasonably priced. I found a fun moonstone ring, a pendant set with a large citrine and small amethyst, and a pair of green amethyst earrings (same color as the citrine). Then I saw the tiny ring in the middle - a beautiful Edwardian setting with a clear white topaz. The owner said "I love that piece, we've had that forever and it never fits anyone." I tried it on and it fit perfectly. She said, "that is beautiful on you, make me an offer on it." I did, she said "done"! The stones don't show well in the photo but they are all clear and have lovely sparkle. I even went back to get a necklace for the pendant.

Take into account .075 inert ingredients with sterling silver and the value of the silver becomes, $3,272. The man then informed me that because the Sterling comes from Mexico he wouldn't offer me full value, claiming Mexican silver many times is less than .925 pure. Everyone in the silver market knows that Mexico is the 2nd largest silver producer in the world only behind Russia. Bizarre huh! After all this he said he was willing to pay be $1,450 for my silver. Silver value is $3,272 and he offered, $1,450. I guess he thought I was stupid. I walked out knowing character counts and this business lacks character. You have been warned.

She brought the in-house jeweler to see what he could do to repair what the other shop had had done. AmRhein's jeweler listened to my concerns, examined my finger size and shape (older with arthritic knuckles) and asked about my daily activities (). He suggested some options, told me that he could and would work the repair I chose and DID for 1/6 the charge from the store which broke my band. I am now an AmRhein customer and so glad to be!
