The style and decor of this place is a bit dated, but I'm not sure if it's old or purposely done that way. When we walked in, it was empty, but it filled up quickly. I think we were pretty much ahead of all the crowds by 30 minutes everywhere we went. You have the option of 4 or 5 courses, cheese course is included with either choice. I think every table we overheard asked about portion sizes and whether they should choose 4 or 5. 4 courses is plenty of food, but you should choose the 5 cause you're in Champagne, so why not. The sauce for my langoustines was a bit too fishy for my taste, but my fish and beef dishes were both really good. And tart for dessert was delicious. The French really know how to do pastries. They don't do wine parings, so we were recommended a bottle and it went very well with the food. We did learn that the champagne that is aged in oak goes better with food. Overall a very good dining experience.

The real Stars of the experience were of course the wines. We went By the glass, starting with a delicious Philliponat brut Champagne, an Alice Corton, and then a Cotes du Rhône. We also got the Mont d'Or: a baked rind cheese served with a baguette, roasted potatoes and salad. It was luxurious. The cheese was enclosed in a wooden basket and when baked turned molten in the middle while the rind became cracklingly crisp. Wow! I suggest their cote du bouef. Others ordered it, a huge platter of melting cheese, beef, roasted potatoes and more. The name describes the place well, you step into the bakery and feel like you have entered a modern bakers cave paradise - with the yummy smell of bread and pastries surrounding you. I only wish they had places to sit here, but everything is for take away, and they even offer café to take away with your items. Everything look so good here it is hard to choose. My friend took a quiche and café éclair, and I took a croissant and éclair. I don't think I can ever eat another éclair again and be content, as this was the best éclair I have had to date, they have now set the bar high for tasty éclairs. She spoke zero English, but was incredibly welcoming and kind. She seemed almost giddy (by French standards) to have tourists in her coffee shop, so I got the feeling this was a very locals-only type place.    We ordered cappuccinos and a "baked fresh today" chocolate chip cookie that looked too irresistible to pass up.    Now, France isn't exactly known for their espresso, and these cappuccinos admittedly weren't very good. They were hot, but that's about it. The cookie didn't fare much better, it wasn't very sweet but did taste nice and fresh. You could really taste the fresh butter and quality ingredients.    This is a very tiny little coffee shop, and we sat at a communal table in the window with a lovely local couple who also didn't speak English (or look, they at least pretended not to, LOL). Although I didn't love the coffee or treats, the cozy atmosphere was absolutely perfect, especially on a cold and rainy afternoon in Reims. It also felt really good to support a small local business.
