And the layout is just bizarre. The back half is a grocery store, with its own cashiers. The front half is a clothing store with separate cashiers. It's just odd. It's weird. The only good thing. They have a fairly large underground parking lot in an area with tough parking.

It covers the bases, from bakery to fruit and veg, dairy, meats, dry goods, personal items, even liquor and charcoal for the grill. The store is smaller than American supermarkets. American travelers may find Auchan lacking in variety, but pleasantly typical of French cuisine such as cold soups and cold cuts. The chilled milk and juice selection is small; the locals seem to buy more ultra pasteurized milk and bottled juices. We found a wider food selection at Monoprix, which also sells clothing and household items. We also found the best (but not less expensive) foods at the semi-weekly covered market in Bourg-la-Reine proper, open 8am-1pm Wednesdays and Saturdays. Many vendors, like so many of the ZFrench, take their vacations in August. Yelp is correct: doors close 15 minutes early so shoppers can complete their purchases.
