A large crew of approximately 10 was "landscaping" the terrain bordering this lot. I knew they were working when I went in for a coffee. I parked facing the rear wall next to a dumpster (in a designated space.) The crew saw me ride in and park. Their blowers could have easily directed the mulch in another direction away from my bike. (They could have advised me to park someplace else, too. I would have.) When I brushed the mulch off my bike I looked up to see a crew member laughing at me. I looked around at the rest of the crew; heads down, working. I confirmed the identity of the landscaping company on the side of the truck into which debris was being loaded. (Some of that debris was under my rear wheel when I returned.) I looked at the cars in the lot when I exited and didn't see any mulch on them or debris under their wheels. Disappointing.

Bernie came and gave me…read moreadvice about various approaches I could take to remedy the situation- wrote up a thorough estimate that included the various approaches. The price for the work was very reasonable! His crew came, removed the grub infested soil and installed the new lawn. But, they went above and beyond. The cleaned out my garden, removed every last leaf under the shrubs and even in the wells by the cellar windows. They treated and seeded a part of the lawn that wasn't in the "deal" because their work forced them to overlap in that area. They were absolutely amazing, and they did it all in two days. I need a new walkway and I intend to use Macauley Brothers for that project in the future. I HIGHLY recommend this company! They are all professional and kind!!

For all appointments and job tasks, they show up as expected, subject to weather delays. Bernie Macauley provides his extensive expertise honestly and in s straight forward manner that the client can rely upon. He is meticulous about shopping for the landscape plants or hardscape products that will provide the best matches for the clients' needs and goals. In our recent project, he traveled to several nurseries on his own time to locate the types of shrubs we wanted that were in the best conditions for fall plantings, rejecting several that were worn out from the long summer weather. Bernie is familiar with the climate zones and soil types that will assure the shrubs' survivals Other landscapers would not have spent so much time on that preliminary work and due diligence. Once the selections are made, the installations of the landscape and hardscape products are done with care and attention under Bernie's initial guidance, including the best fertilizers and other prep work. His crews show up on time, are courteous, and reflect the attitude instilled from Bernie, from the project manager to every worker. The whole team at Macauley Brothers are all professional, responsive, hard working and meticulous, so they clearly care that the clients are pleased with the outcome. If there are aspects that rarely the clients question, Bernie and his crew return to address them. Their attitude helps to virtually eliminate the stress of doing these types of projects because the clients have confidence in their work. We are very demanding clients and we have used Macauley Brothers for major landscape and hardscape projects at residential projects in Newton, on the Cape and in Chestnut Hill over several years. In every instance, their work has exceeded our expectations, while substantially enhancing the beauty and value of the properties. From our perspective, there is no better choice for landscape and/or hardscape projects in the greater Boston area than Macauley Brothers.

Our experience with Whitmore's started off as a fertilizing contract and the lawn looked better and better each year. We then moved to include aeration and thatching before we then upgraded to weekly lawn mowing, as well. The Whitmore staff is always quick to answer emails or phone calls if something is needed and the pricing is reasonable across the board. When the crew is on our property, they are sure to always blow off the driveway and walk of any clippings and also take care of the patio and deck, too. All in all, great lawn care service provided by Whitmore's and definitely would recommend them to someone looking for a landscaping company.
