That included the time for the parts guy to deliver my parts. Has rear stabilizer bar bushings replaced due to excessive play and clunky noise. Past mechanics couldn't diagnose it properly until Lim did it in passing. So I'm impressed. Front stabilizer bar links seized and got those replaced too. This is for a 16 yr old car. They wont admit its their fault and instead refer me to other repair shop because they told me they don't repair those thing and will cause much time. Bottom line, if you value your vehicle and demand respect and patience from your mechanic, you should never go to this guy. It was a very unpleasant experience and I will never go back again. The auto shop does not take appointment for tire change and is on a first come first serve basis, so I walked in like all other people. When I said I was there for winter tire change, the person (I later found out his name was Joe) at the front desk said "So does the rest of Richmond Hill". He later said the wait would be 2 hrs and I said I would wait. When it was time to pay, I asked if there was a discount if I paid cash. His snarky response: "I should be charging you more for fitting you in". You did not have to fit me in. I could go elsewhere, on a different day. Both comments were uncalled for and very rude. I noticed that his attitude towards others (men) in the shop was different.

Visited this mechanic for the second time for the same issue (horn not always working)…read more First, I take back my assessment that Jimmy is "mechanic's mechanic". He was friendly with me on my first visit, but was rather cold on the second. When I said that I want to disconnect a theft-protection sensor under the hood (a common practice for Mazdas of this generation), he explained to me that it is not easy to do and told me to go home and do it in my spare time. - Well, why would I drive there in the first place if I wanted to do the dirty jobs myself? I said I also want to check the transmission mount, but he interjected that the next customer was already waiting for him. He didn't follow up if I wanted to schedule another appointment. Second, the wait times and punctuality. Both times I visited him I arrived on time. Both times I had to wait while he was busy with something else or taking calls. And that's another thing: he doesn't have a secretary, so he has to take calls which sometimes last 15 minutes. On my second visit the job (replacing the horn) took him about 15 minutes. Another 55 minutes were spent with me waiting while he was in his "office". Third, the sneaky pricing. On my first visit he told me the labor would be 70 CAD, on the second visit it was suddenly 75 CAD. And that's in addition to the 60 CAD diagnostic charge for this trivial problem after my first visit. All in all, I paid 152 CAD for labor alone for replacing a faulty car horn. Not too bad, actually, in Toronto prices. But, unfortunately, I will not be coming back with the rest of the issues my car has accumulated over the years.
