Went here last week and had to create a Yelp account just to post this: Worst haircut I've ever gotten! Barber literally did nothing of what I asked for, it was over in about 7 minutes, didn't ask if I wanted the front lined up or anything. I was so shocked that I didn't even ask her to fix anything. I had to go down the street and pay another $20 for someone to do it right, what an expensive haircut! I'm not kidding when I say there are literally 10 barbershops on / near Main St. in Waltham, do not waste your time and money at this one. I'm embarrassed to say I've done here! read more

Needed a haircut an upcoming career fair. This place was not far from my university, and having passed by it before, it seemed like a regular, established, no frills barber shop. Aye, it is a great, no frills place. When I went in, there was no wait (always nice to not have to wait). I got what I asked for, which was a 3 to the whole head. Barber was very efficient. He did not rush, but he didn't take his time either. He wanted to. Make sure to not miss any spots, but also not keep me in the chair longer than necessary. Barber was also really kind, and we made some nice conversation. Price was competitive at 15 bucks for a haircut. Will definitely return here if I find my curls getting unwieldy. read more

I went here based upon the great reviews and unfortunately I would not recommend them. Being a new customer, I wasn't expecting a perfect haircut, however, I was expecting some basic barbering skills. The barber shaved a portion of hair off at my hairline, so now I have a bald spot on an uneven hairline. The barber definitely seemed to be rushing even though there were no other customers waiting. If you decide to try here, definitely watch while your hair is being cut. read more

I have been going to Frank's Barbershop, once a month, for over a decade. What I look for in a barbershop is: 1) A consistently quality haircut; 2) Clean and modern equipment; 3) Affordable; 4) Ease of access; 5) Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Why am I so loyal to Frank's Barbershop? Because they are committed to the 5 criteria above (and more!), and they have been loyal to me. Christine is the great manager of the place, as wellas a seasoned barber! As Frank's daughter, she knows how to combine the best of the 'traditional' with the 'modern.' Some of the shop's traditions, to me, are, the reasonable cost of a haircut, the individual customer service experience, the friendly atmosphere, and, the cash-only pay system. And the modern, to me, is the highly qualified barbers (I want a basic, but 'modern' haircut, and my man, Derek, gives me that every time!). Derek and I discussed what I was looking for, during my first couple of visits, over a decade ago. I got the exact haircut I described then; and he still checks in with me each month, as I take my seat; and he still delivers the haircut I want every time! The barber chairs and hair-cutting equipment are completely up-to-date; Christine and Derek constantly work to keep their shop clean and inviting. You should see their shop before a big event, like Easter or 'back to school' time - the place is packed! Customers know what they are going to get; and it's definitely worth the wait! Prepare for a crowd just before a big sports event. This past January, I witnessed dozens of customers, of all ages, getting their 'Patriot's logo' haircut in preparation for the Pat's Super Bowl run! What a fun visit that was! Lastly, if you become a 'regular,' which only takes a few visits (unlike many 'traditional barbershops' I have tried in the greater Waltham area) you will enjoy a place where 'everyone knows your name!' Awful. Derek cut my hair and it was awful. Waste of $16. The owners just seem lazy and not so professional. Derek rushed my haircut and messed up the top of my hair. It's so even. Doesn't seem to know correct proportions properly. Don't know how this has nice ratings. read more

I asked for a 4 on the sides and keep it long on the top, and I have about 4 inches of hair on the top. So I get a 2 all around, not to mention they did a very messy job, too. And the staff was quiet and awkward read more

You hot headed maniac!! Zero professionalism!! Don't be fooled. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde... For 32 years I've always gone to my brothers barber shop up until 2 months ago. Given that he lives 1.5 hours away. Sadly and regretfully given this situation, it was finally time to wash my hands with him. I google searched barber shops close to my house, and happily I saw Franks barber shop with 5 star ratings. The first time I went in, I left very pleased. So I go in for my second hair cut asking for a tapered fade just like the first time but this time I wanted to go shorter. Which, he then replies, "we can always go shorter." Close to being exactly how my brother use to cut it. I asked him to take it down just a little more, which he kindly did. I then asked for a mirror and just as I was finished looking at the back and sides of my head, I honestly and literally was going to tell him... "It looks great." Which generally implies, ones done... HE SNAPPED!!! And he viciously ripped the mirror, neck tape and gown off me and kicked me out! A complete embarrassment. Not only for me, but him. I called him shortly after to tell him everything I told you and no apology. Which provoked me to make my very first post on yelp. I'm not discounting it's a great place, dark! Hence why I also needed a mirror but decent... Just look out for Mr Hyde at the end. read more
