This is the Price Chopper discount gas station for Marlboro. They have made it much more convenient being able to scan your Price Chopper card at the pump. The coffee and other hot items are made fresh everyday and the coffee more than once a day. They have a wide selection of all kinds of convenience store items.

I get $.30 cents off a gallon with super market discount points this week at Sunoco..... but their gas price with the 30 cent discount is still more then the credit price at Falconi's pit stop at 29 Boston Road at Winchester St in Southborough, MA which is $2.48 a gallon. Even Thomas Energy at 175 Lakeside Ave and Lincoln St is a credit price of $2.67 a gallon and that is Gulf gas. My super market 30 cent discount is totally worthless because this Sunoco gouges. Plus thier sign always has the cash price post. However in very small font that is not illuminated it says cash. So when you pull in the cash price is 7 cents more a gallon!

This place is always busy so beware when walking around outside. Sometimes you must be very careful when you walk inside. The place is always clean, but extremely cluttered when they get product delivered. Totes and boxes are stacked everywhere as the fill the shelves. One thing i do love is that they have fountain soda here. If you are looking for a quick bite for lunch, they do sell steamed hot dogs too, though for some reason not everyday. No rhyme or reason as to when, just hit or miss if they are serving or not.

But the attendant was non-communicative and dour-looking, not even responding to me when I tried to make small talk. (And here I was, upon pulling in to this station and seeing that this was a full-service station, how I told my kids in the car that this is how gas stations USED to be, with friendly attendants who filled the gas tank and washed the windows and even checked your tires' air pressure. At least, when I was growing up, this is how they were! Very Norman Rockwellian and reminiscent of Americana. Anyone out there remember the drinking glasses you used to get at old gas stations? And how friendly the attendants were? And helpful?). Anyhow, this attendant was the antithesis of that friendly attendant of yore. Very disappointing.

I only pulled in to this place because they didn't have a line down the parking lot. To make a long story short, the guy said if I had them replace one of my two reverse lights then he would give me a sticker even though the windshield washer doesn't work. Ehhhh... I can replace the light bulb in minutes and minimal cost myself, but now they have my car captive and want a premium for service I don't want. If I don't have the bulb replaced by them I have to not only replace the bulb but fix the windshield washer because it's now on the report. I appreciate that this place does a through inspection, I've lived in states where they don't inspect (AL) and it's scary. I don't appreciate feeling like i'm being asked to bribe the guy for a sticker, even if it is in a roundabout way. To make it better I get to visit them again in the next 60 days unless I want to pay to have the inspection done again somewhere else. If you're driving down the street looking for an inspection, there may be a reason why one place is dead quiet while the others are busy. I have four cars to inspect, I won't make this mistake with the others.
