This used to be the local laundromat that I used because it's clean, well-maintained, and close to…read moremy apartment. Today will be the last time I go there. Why? On the door is a sign saying "We don't ask, but if you'd like to wear a mask, you're allowed to do so", or something pretty close to that. Apparently most people took that to mean: "although there's an executive health order to wear a mask due to Coronavirus, you don't have to wear one here!", because there were about 20 customers washing laundry, many of them very close together, but I was the only one wearing a mask. I waited about 15 minutes to get a free corner to myself, I waited for a couple customers to leave. After sanitizing the table, I started doing my laundry. A gentleman came over, and started a conversation with "Boy I wish this virus would go away!" . I agreed, and told him I had 2 relatives die of Covid, and that I had health problems so I had to be extra.cautious. I attempted to turn away to avoid continuing the conversation. He was undeterred. He saw I was wearing a mask, but he proceeded to keep talking, moving closer and closer until finally I had to put my laundry cart between us. I'm a friendly person, but with this stuff going on, I really didn't want to talk or have someone 2-3 feet away from me at this time. People bring their smelly germy laundry to laundromats, and why the owner of this place is basically encouraging people not to wear masks is beyond me, but I'll never go back. In fact, I think I need to get tested because of this!
