What a great find along one of the ally's near the city center. My tour guide suggested the Fava bean sandwich because Fava beans are popular in the Granada area. At first I wasn't too excited about a sandwich of Fava beans but then I thought where else would I find such a creation. So I ordered one (3.40€)
When I asked the owner for the sandwich with fava beans he pointed to it on the menu, "Habas" and said it was Lima beans. Either way it was unique for sure. They were precooked, he scooped them out and grilled them on the flat top and put them in a crispy roll. There were bits of jamon (ham) grilled in with the beans so it's not a vegetarian dish.
The bread was very crispy and the beans tender with a nice char and some flavor and saltiness from the jamon. So glad I got it. I'd say similar to soy beans.
Service was also great. The guy spoke enough English for me to get by. When we left, my friend wanted a to go cup which he gave but he did not have a lid, so instead he got some aluminum foil and a rubber band and put it over the top of the cup. Way to problem solve! read more
