I called these people three times with questions I'm sure were very annoying but I was trying to avoid loading up my bike to take it to their shop. They never once gave the impression of being put out with my inquiries. Instead they were reassuring and most helpful. I assumed the repair was going to be expensive and was going on the angle that tires were needing to be replaced. When I arrived at the shop with my bike, they instantly looked at the problem from the cheapest, easiest fix first. I set myself up to be fully taken advantage of with a high repair bill and instead walked out paying zero dollars after they added air to my tires. It completely fixed the problem! I insisted I pay for their expertise but the owner, Pete, would have nothing of it. read more

Terrible service. Went here with my daughters bike to reassemble. Bike has never been ridden. Just taken apart to ship from California. The repair man maybe owner looked at it and decided he didn't want to invest any time in it basically looked at it like it was a foreign object. A bike repair shop that doesn't repair bikes. I wonder why. I won't even waste my time on what I feel the issue may have been. read more

We recently purchased a bike from this bike shop and the service was the best , the owner is most importantly, very knowledgeable , without any arrogance, friendly and helpful. And the prices are more than fair. I highly recommend this bike shop. read more

I have never had bad service. The folks at Frankford are always professional and courteous. Pete takes care of every customer that comes in the door with professionalism and fairness. The mechanics that work on the bikes are top notch. I would highly recommend Frankford Bicycle. read more

Pete, the owner of the shop is a very friendly guy and takes good care of his customers. He has even showed up to ou local Youngstown bike clud and given a talk on Zwift and smart trainers. I have had Pete build a rode wheel for me and he did an excellent job and for a reasonable price. I would recommend this shop to anyone from the Youngstown / Warren area. read more

I was visiting family in the area and needed some work done on my bike. The man I dealt with acted incredibly rude and put out and said that it wasn't worth his time to make the repairs I requested. Go to Thumm's instead. read more

Very disappointed with my visit. Once the owner realized I wasn't there to spend a ton of money, he became rude and unwilling to help. Acted as though my visit was a bother to him. Will not return. read more

Horrible. I called to ask how much it would cost to replace the cables on my bike. I assumed that the price they gave me included the replacement cables, however when I picked up the bike I was charged 30% more than quoted. For the person I talked to on the phone to not give any indication that the price quoted does not include the cables is disingenuous, to say the least. I ended up paying 85 dollars to replace two cables. read more

Pete and his team fixed 2 of my bikes (one is 34 years old!) and kept them for a long period as I was traveling. Very professional shop!

Service is top-notch. Owner and most of the shop employees are all avid riders of one type of bicycle or another. Pricing is competitive. If they don't have it in stock, they'll get it for you. Seriously, $3.45/gallon? Come on... Bicycle commuting is where it's at. read more

I really wish that I liked Frankford. It has a monopoly on Girard OH, and it is the only bike shop in the immediate area. So I was looking forward to supporting the local bike shop. The bike mechanic staff is really good. If they were the only people working there, I would definitely rate this place 4 or 5 stars. Although the mechanics are helpful, they are always very busy leaving customers to their far less knowledgeable sales staff. There is one blonde woman in particular who does not seem able to provide service beyond selling brand new bikes. If you need to buy anything, talk to the bike mechanics because they will make sure that you walk out with exactly what you need. It is difficult to get the salespeople to order parts in a timely fashion. They take a few days to get information on how much your order will cost where as every other bike shop in the area can give you pricing information before you leave the store. With that said, I'd like to stress that the bike mechanics are great. If you are looking for a bike repair or a brand new, pre-assembled bike, this place is the place to go. If you're looking for a part or a tool, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

My husband brought my 17 year old grandson here to get 2 20 inch Bsd tires that ran $73 and an $8 tube. Well he had an issue with the tire, the bead seal is torn and wont stay on with high pressure. He went back the next day & wanted to get 2 different tires as he no longer felt comfortable using these. He was told it was his fault that the tire was now faulty because he did not "seat" the tire correctly. Their response was, they would not be doing anything about it. It was, take it up with the manufacturer. First, my grandson is a bmx "buff". He changes tires and parts way more than is ever necessary (I'd go so far as to say bike repair is a passion of his). Second, even if this was the absolute case, for the sake of customer satisfaction why wouldnt you do a "courtesy" exchange? The manufacturer would have credited him and he would have had happy customers. I am so very dissapointed with this "specialty bike shop" experience that I dont want another. read more
