After speaking and corresponding with a few attorneys and staff members at sundry different law firms in Knoxville, TN I finally decided to contact C l C and see what advice and services they could provide me with as I slogged through my divorce proceedings. I had an initial consultation with attorney John Vaught in C l C's Knoxville office. A week or so later, I officially retained C l C to provide me with legal representation during my divorce. At that point, attorney Emily B. Vowell was assigned my case. Despite the fact that my case was not one with a great deal of financial assets to be fought over and, thankfully, had a relatively low chance of going to trial I found Emily to be a tireless advocate for me and my son. Emily and the staff at C l C kept me up-to-date on the status of my case and provided me with excellent advice as to how and when to provide documents for both my ex-wife's counsel and C l C. More than once Emily demonstrated that she was willing to fight for my best interest even when I was, at times, willing to concede more than I probably should have been willing to give up. Ultimately, Emily stood by me and helped me make it through answering my ex-wife's divorce petition, discovery, and expertly guided me through the process of divorce mediation. Though I didn't get everything that I wanted out of my divorce (this is especially true since I really didn't want the divorce at all), Emily's steady mindset and willingness to eagerly advocate for me, even when I didn't feel like advocating for myself, helped me secure just about as solid of a financial and, more importantly, child custody arrangement as I could have hoped for going into the divorce proceedings. I reported him to the TN Bar, but they are all in cahoots (think TN justice, lol). I could have done the work myself except that TN REQUIRES a lawyer for a judgment over $25K. So already screwed. I'm in CA and required legal action in TN (couldn't hire my regular lawyer in CA). I hired this man for a simple domestication and collection of judgment funds. 3 other agencies quoted me $1500, $2500, $2500. They could not adhere to my deadline, though. One was Nikki Price, formerly of this agency. Keith duplicate billed me, was condescending, STRUNG out issues such as not being able to figure out the interest on the judgment, held my funds captive til i produced a final $5K retainer for NOTHING (I had to hire a CA lawyer at this point to help me navigate KEITH). He did NOT tell me nor attempt to collect my full settlement. At the end of the day, my settlement should have been $104, I did NOT know this, he settled for $43. My bottom line losses due to hiring this monster were: Lost Business: $31,750 (I had to take time off work to del with him, I had FOUR desks set up with this case and a p/t admin! 4/24-12/24) Out of Pocket Expenses: $37,868.25 (3 unneeded PI's, admin, CA laywer) Lost Settlement Monies $106,000 - $43,000 = $63,000 Total: $132,618.25 He is CROOK, he will and is NOW striking again. Stay away. I also remitted his unfavorable reviews to the BAR, but since those have been taken off the internet. If YELP needs to verify the authenticity of this review, I urge them to contact me.
