The world has lost a great man. One who saw injustice and sought to right it; suffering and sought to heal it; poverty and sought to alleviate it. He went into law because it was a distinguished and honorable profession. With his Southern charm and honesty, many saw him as the real life version of Atticus Finch. He saw the law and being a lawyer as a way to secure justice for the weak, to give voice to the voiceless and power to the disenfranchised. As long as I live, I will always see his beautiful face, his sparkling blue eyes and grin which would light up just before delivered the punchline of a most insightful joke. He'd always says real life is more interesting than fiction. He'd tell fascinating stories that spoke to human nature and say, "This happened, I couldn't make this up!" He knew the law and made court law. I worked as an intern but God gave me a friend for life. My heart goes out to his dear wife Laura and two sons who he adored. I just found out that my friend who prided himself in being in the office at 6 am had passed. My heart breaks even as I write this, because I know I shall never see his like again.
