History
Established in 1907.
1907- Frank Key opened its first builder’s merchant shop in Mansfield.
1953- Relocated to Daybrook, adding a showroom to expand our range of building products.
1977- Launched plant hire services, followed by skip hire, offering a complete range of building supplies.
2006- Opened a landscaping centre at Timmermans Garden Centre with landscaping display and expert advice.
2007- Introduced Kitchen & Bathroom showroom to serve contractors and retail.
2008- Expanded with branches in Bulwell and Somercotes, enhancing access to building materials.
2010- Opened Home Solutions showroom in Daybrook, showcasing fireplaces & stoves.
2012- Acquired Sinbad plant hire and The Builders Centre, Sheffield, strengthening regional services.
2015- Added Banson Tool Hire, and Clower & Son, extending operations across new regions.
2018-2019 - Launched Patioworld in Mapperley Plains and refurbished Sheffield into our flagship branch.
2024- Invested over 2 Million into our flagship depot in Nottingham.

Not only the Sales & Marketing Director of their family-run business but also a passionate advocate for its continued growth and success. Deeply rooted in the values instilled by his father, Benjamin is driven by a commitment to provide exceptional service to customers while supporting the well-being of over 200 employees and their families.
The customer is always the top priority, and his approach to leadership is firmly anchored in customer-centricity. He believes that the key to a thriving business lies in forging strong relationships with customers and ensuring their needs are met with unparalleled service and care.
Benjamin also carries forward the family tradition of giving back to the local community, a philosophy championed by his father, who believes the importance of supporting the community that has supported the business for generations.
