There are tables and plenty of seating to watch play (but play with them too!). There's a big open area for lawn games and also a splash pad with more seating and a pavilion you can rent for parties. All things enclosed and pets or bikes are not allowed. In addition to this there is a massive lawn to play things like soccer or other sports, great paved walking or biking paths and it even goes into the woods where you can play in the creek. There are plenty of great trails here, paved and dirt, and a hand-full of fun geocaches if you download the app. Very amazing park!

There are also tennis courts, basketball courts, pickleball, and other sports fields. Bravo to all those that contributed in the vision and buildout for this place as it was long overdue for the community but such a great use of tax revenues.

The facility has several soccer fields, baseball fields, a nice upgrades playground and even and outdoor fitness center for the community. I've taken the kids here a few times to play on the playground and recently went here to watch my daughters friend soccer game. Really nice facility to host sporting events with ample enough parking and wide open spaces. Overall a very nice addition to the mount Washington community and a very fine place to either play and relax or take in or participate in a sporting event.

There are plenty of spots for fishing but some of them you will need to take a short hike down a gravel road. If you bring a wagon make sure it has bigger wheels but probably best to carry everything to make it easier. There is a fishing dock as well that's pretty big and most definitely is shareable with a few groups. The hiking trail that extends around to the dam is a fun walk since it goes in and out of wooded covering. Makes it great for sunny days as well. The playground is nice and maybe small to moderate size. There are BBQ stands to use and picnic tables. There are bathrooms but not very quick to get to from most parts of the park so keep that in mind. Great place to kayak as well! Great views and since the lake is narrow it makes it feel more like a river to go through. Super fun place! Glad to see them doing more work on it Only criticism is that there is lots of trash and even though it's the patrons fault, the park could do a better job at cleaning it up. Watch your little ones so they don't pick up pokey fish hooks or broken bottles.

The park itself features a small playground, a full court basketball court and lots of soccer fields. If you follow the concrete path near the parking lot towards the patio area and soccer fields you can follow that path around a short trail that eventually takes you through a gravel paved wooded area that runs along side the soccer fields. It leads back out to the road where it circles back to the blocked off road at the entrance. It's a giant circle. But it's a peaceful and easy trail. Overall solid little park and it's pretty close to my home. So I'll come up here and let the girls play on the playground. It's very rarely crowded. Most of the crowd heads to the larger McNeely Lake Park about 3 miles down the road as it has several massive playgrounds. So a lot of time when we don't want to deal with bit crowds I'll make the short trip here and let the girls run wild and blow off energy.

A very cool playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, a walking trail, gazebo sitting and most shockingly of all a full blown skate park. Who knows maybe the next tony hawk is practicing now in small town mount Washington? Took my 4 daughters along with some friends here for the fist time ever today. My one year and six year old loved the playground and swings. Played for hours. My two older daughters tried out the state of the art skate park. Which I was shocked how elaborate it was. In the whole metro Louisville area I can only think of one other skate park and that is in downtown Louisville. They had a blast there. They borrowed a friends skateboard and they really took a liking to it. I've already been sent Amazon links from both of them asking for a skateboard so I'm sure I'll be back here once that happens. I enjoyed sitting back and relaxing and watching them have fun. Plenty of spots to sit and relax and an easy small concrete walking trail that circles the park amenities and beautiful landscape. Very impressed by this park. Very well upkept and lots of cool and fun activities for all ages. We will absolutely be back to This hidden gem several times. Absolutely worth checking out!

I recently stopped in there wasting time waiting for my second oldest daughter to get out of her cheer leading practice nearby. This place is massive. I had no idea. Very large and spacious with open fields, cool walking trail that follows the river, a few pretty extensive playgrounds, some memorials, a few ball fields and even a very old cemetery. It was very cold the day I stopped by. So My family and I was the only ones there. You can drive thru the park as it has two entrances. A main one that takes you off blue lick road or a back entrance that starts at Plum st. I do not live in Shepherdsville so I can't say for sure but if I had to guess they do a lot of community events here. There was a gazebo setups with bleacher seating. My oldest daughters best friend lives right in front of a portion of the park so she has been several times. She told me that during the Christmas holidays they have a really cool Christmas light setup that can be drive through or walked through. So that's something I'll have to check out next holiday season for sure. Also according to my daughters friend they are adding a water/spray park to the food in the summer of 21. So that will be neat as well.

This place continues to expand their natural play spaces and there is so much to explore! My kids,…read more6&2, love hiking to see the giants, and spending time in the natural playground. There are water and dirt/sand play spaces, so may want to pack extra clothes for the ride home. There are plenty of paved or gravel paths as well as backcountry trails. Pack a lunch and stay all day! If you're walking the giants path, there is often a snow cone truck parked near Mama Loumari on the weekends. They also offer plenty of family events, so be sure to check the calendar. It is $15 per car to enter or $75 for an annual pass. We find it totally worth the pass as a family who drives from Louisville. Leashed dogs are welcome. Remember to bring your bags to clean up after them :)

Catching up on an overlooked review for the annual Indigenous Peoples Powwow held at Bernheim in…read more2025. The scheduled 2026 Powwow was cancelled due to weather event. Hoping this will still be rescheduled for this year or at the very least that it will return in 2027. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and being exposed to a special cultural event. Tribes from across the nation were on site. We had several opportunities to interact with various members of the tribes in attendance and questions were welcomed and answered. I believe members as far away as North Dakota had traveled here to participate. The beading and decorative embroidery on the clothing was explained. These are NOT costumes, which is terminology that is considered an insult. It was explained regarding the difference in that these are their clothes and not some sort of dress up play acting session. The drumming and dancing was also explained. We were also able to try fry bread and several other food items, which was an epic experience to have at least a hinting glimpse into another culture. Looking forward to attending future powwows.

For those in the unknown a arboretum is a place where trees, shrubs, no herbaceous plants are cultivated for specific and educational purposes. Which is exactly what this place is. It also has a few nice benches and a cool monument/statue called "Our Deer Brave". I usually stop in here when visiting the mount Washington city park that is tucked behind the baseball fields and behind the school. The awesome park has a walking trail that loops into the baseball fields. From there I caught a glimpse of this cool little area that was created and dedicated by the students of the elementary school. So usually on nice days I'll make the stroll and come in and relax here for a bit. Overall cool and unique area to check out. I love little local hidden gems and this very much fits that description.

And I was pretty surprised to see this but it was really neat they had a lot of cool trees everywhere they had nice statues and dedications to people and just a lot of neat sheds and little buildings and different things to really walk around and look at and we played hide and go seek they are around the statues and different things so me and my family had a really good time so we enjoyed coming up here and doing bike rides and walking around and seeing all the nice sights
