8 months out from my bunion surgery, only to be told that my dr now can't correct my foot (more…read morelike he doesn't want to correct it.) I followed all of his instructions post surgery, but for whatever reason the capsule did not hold. LITERALLY HIS RESPONSE "sometimes it just doesn't hold." ( IMO he was extremely lax about the entire recovery process, and should not released me to workout when he did.) now He says I need a more serious procedure that he isn't able to do??? He needs to retire. DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR.

In my opinion, this office is HORRIBLE!!! I had an initial appointment. and his automatic call…read moresystem called the day before the appointment and told me to be 15 minutes early for an 11:30 appointment. I thought it was at 11:00, and we called but could not get through to the office to confirm. I arrived at 11:18 and was rudely told by the staff at the front that I was "20 minutes" late and that I could not be seen because they could not see me before they had to go to lunch. I begged to be seen, I had been waiting on this appointment for the severe pain in my feet and they wanted to reschedule me for several weeks. I was crying and my husband go upset and tried to reason with them. I went outside and they told him to get out and that the Dr. now refuses to see me as a patient. The lack of compassion, the screw up of their call system, the fact that they were going to make me pay for their mistake is mind blowing. I would not trust or recommend this office to an enemy much less anyone I care about.

After being a patient for over a year, Dr. Howell sent me to pain management with Dr. Xzavier in…read moreCrestview. After several months it was determined that I would have surgery and have a spinal tap stimulator surgically implanted into my spine. Since it would be several months before Dr. Messiner (who does the actual surgery) could see me, Dr. Xzavier contacted Dr. Howell's office to have a prescription for Loritabs written for my pain, Dr. Howell's office scheduled an appointment for me to be seen again. When I was seen at Dr. Howell's office I was specifically told that because of my age and the prevalent addiction to this pain medicine in our town that I would not be able to receive the medication that controls my pain. (Can you say profiling) I called Dr. Howell the next day (Tuesday) and requested an appointment to discuss how I was treated by his PA. On Friday I received a certified letter from Dr. Howell dropping me as a patient. When I contacted Dr. Howell's office I was told I was dropped because I "kept trying to see them for a prescription after being referred to pain management" When I pointed out that Dr. Xzavier had scheduled the appointment for me, they had nothing to say. Let me also point out that I work for the City of DeFuniak Springs, run a 5 man inmate crew, and have random drug tests that I have never failed. This doctor will profile you and drop you as a patient if you try to make a complaint. I will be filing a complaint with the B.B.B.

They take time to answer all our questions and make sure we understand what needs to be done to continue to maintain good health. I have never had to wait a long time for a visit. When I come for my appointments, I am usually in the doctor's chair within 15 minutes of arrival. If you are looking for top quality care, you could not choose a better location. Dr. Howell is amazing and he better not retire before I quit needing him. Thank you Mary Sutton for all of your ongoing help and thank you Kimberly Bryant for taking care and listening to my sister and her needs.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Don't pay attention to the appointment time they give you! Show up…read moreat least half an hour before. I was nearly 10 minutes early & they told me they couldn't see me because I showed up less than 30 minutes early "for the paperwork" (all questions I had already answered on the phone, mind you) Then I sat there, filled it all out, finished just a few moments after my appointment time was. Was told I'd have to come back another day, that they could get me in at 9:30. but I'd have to be there at 9:00. For what? for the paperwork I'd just filled out for them while sitting in their waiting room for my scheduled appointment! I point out I'd just filled out all the paperwork, still was told I'd have to be there 30 minutes early anyway, because that's "just how the provider likes it" Tell me, if I was still early to my first appointment time, still did the paperwork? I mean, let's not put two & two for 63 here folks. I clarified, "So even though I was here on time to the actual appointment time, the time that was stamped in the appointment reminders, that I have now filled all the paperwork ok, & it's only 5 past my appointment time now. I have to now go find childcare again; for the appointment I've been waiting over 3 weeks for, that I hassled my insurance to make yall my primary care for, that I am inside this building, insurance coverage available, here for, I can't be seen until tomorrow at 9:30, but not 9:30, 9:00. but the Appointment time is 9:30, but I'll be denied if I show up after 9:00?" to the response of "yes ma'am that's just how the provider does it." Well the provider can do it for someone else I guess. It's not just annoying folks, it's downright stupid. I told them just to forget the 9:00 or 9:30, whatever they were expecting. I would go find care somewhere where somebody actually cared, thank you. & left. Should have demanded my documents with all my sensitive information be handed back to me seeing as they took them to give me absolutely nothing in return. I know the medical field is swamped but I was nearly 10 minutes early to the actual appointment time! I'll say it again: Pathetic. Even another patient passing by me as I left chimed in how wrong it was for them to do that to me. Choose your care elsewhere, where they might not be full of it!
