I reached out to Alícia a few months ago, knowing she wasn't taking any more clients because she was on maternity leave. I figured I'd never get a response back, but I got a response on the same night!! I really wanted to take some decent photos of my babies. Life is unpredictable and I would regret it so much if I didn't have decent photos of them. I was willing to accommodate to Alicia's schedule, whenever she was ready to take me on as a client, and finally we got our photoshoot done in end of June. Alícia chose a park in Santa Monica, around sunset. She wanted to get a few looks even though we were only within 1 block of the park. She showed up all ready...knee pads, fanny pack with squeaky toy, hair up, sneakers. She was ready to get dirty to shoot our little babies, which I appreciate so much. She was very sweet, accommodating, and of course, talented. The location she chose didn't wow me at first, but I trusted her choice and the pictures turned out great! I really wanted to capture the two very different personalities of my dogs and I think she did just that. She specifically asked what I wanted to capture and I appreciate her caring what I wanted besides the beautiful faces of my babies. The photos were ready in a week! Super fast considering how busy she is and I know some photographers will take weeks to get pictures out to their clients. These pictures will definitely be printed in various items: canvas, photos, mugs, mouse pads, blankets, wallpapers....ok, jk on the wallpapers. Bottom line is, they will be treasured forever for as long as I live.

Alicia was great! She took a ton of photos. The edits/touch ups were perfect. Well worth it! Wish we had done a session sooner to document our pup earlier. Looking forward to booking another session.

Alicia is an absolute DREAM to work with... and an incredibly talented one at that! I was lucky enough to have her as the photographer for my pup's write up in a rescue magazine, Faces of Freedom. At the time, I had been fostering Lucy a few short months (I've since officially adopted her) and, having previously been a neglected street dog and recently hit by a car, she was very weary and untrusting of humans... especially strangers. Add to that she had to be hospitalized a few nights leading up to the session, and, well, to say I was a bit concerned we wouldn't be able to get decent shots is an understatement. With a pressing deadline for the magazine, and Alicia's confidence it would all be great, we moved ahead and met at an outdoor location in Santa Monica. From the start, Alicia was easy going, friendly, confident and professional... all making it feel easy and natural to trust her instincts and suggestions. She has an incredible eye for natural lighting and dimensions, and although I had believed this to be true, once I received the finished photos, I still was completely blown away at what she was able to capture that I hadn't even noticed being there. Most importantly, she was very patient with Lucy and the challenges of photographing a petrified pup. Enough time has passed now that Lucy has finally healed physically, as well as emotionally, from her "previous life" and is finally a happy-go-lucky, smiling (at least she looks like she smiles!) pup. So I plan to hire Alicia personally for another shoot, this one including my other rescue pup... which will be her next challenge, dealing with my Mr Grump! Alicia is talented, passionate and committed to getting the best shots, so I have not doubts that she will deliver again!!

I truly love my puppies and wanted to capture their cuteness! I searched Alicia's images and really liked how she captured the unique personalities that every pet has. Alicia was amazing to work with. My dogs loved her instantly and I loved her energy and creativity. We shot all the pictures at my house, but she was still able to capture a variety of settings and styles and really worked to bring out the personality of my puppies. I am absolutely thrilled with the images I was sent and will be sharing them everywhere. I will be able to treasure these forever. I HIGHLY recommend Alicia for her fantastic pet photography!

We had a wonderful experience with Alicia as she captured my two frenchies in action. She had great suggestions on location, time of day, and how best to capture the dogs to give us the best pics. She was professional and kind. I would absolutely do it again in the future.

I don't even know where to start with the pure talent!!! I met Alicia at the 145th Anniversary celebration for the San Francisco SPCA. We talked about shelter photography and how important it is for shelter pets to have a good photo. Alicia generously offered to lend a hand and give our volunteers tips and tricks to getting their best shot. I had no idea at that time how much impact she would soon have. Working with Alicia on our first photo shoot I realized she was the REAL DEAL. Her photos are hands down the best I have ever seen! She is very engaging, vivacious, flexible and tenacious-- all things necessary for photoing animals! And the pictures!! Omg, the pictures. It's not even the same dog. When you see an animal through Alicia's eyes, you know you have given an animal the best chance possible. The beauty just shines through! We noticed an immediate response to the new and improved photos and there is no question Alicia has saved lives with her photos! Look no further. If you want the best of the best, you have found her.

We just received our photos yesterday and I had to put them up on the walls right away. I had a hard time deciding which photos to print now and which ones I would print once we move and have more wall space. Now our home looks like a BOO! gallery and we love it :) My dog is a 5 year old rescue mix who loves to play with toys and cuddle. He's such a cute dog but hard to photograph, he usually looks awkward or scared. Alicia did an amazing job capturing the essence of his beauty and personality. Now his hazel eyes, funny eyebrow expressions, beautiful smile, and playful demeanor will be forever immortalized in these photos. The photoshoot was in our home ( Marina del Rey) and BOO! was totally comfortable with her. At times it was like she wasn't in the room - he kept playing his toys and was looking right into her camera. She came prepared ( knee pads and props) and was very patient with him. Her entire process from scheduling an initial Skype meeting, emailing "how to prepare" info, doing the shoot, coming over to show us the final images, sending us the tracking and following up.. was all done in a timely, professional manner. We definitely recommend Alicia - Frame Your Pet if you understand that your furry friend is not "just a dog" Thank you again!! ~Jen, Andrew & BOO! JUST A DOG From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"or "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent,or the costs involved for "just a dog." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you too, think it's "just a dog," then you probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that its' not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man" or "just a woman." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog," just smile, because they "just don't understand." ~Unknown Author~

All of the praise that Alicia has received is well-deserved. We presented Alicia with a daunting challenge - capture 4 dogs and 2 humans in a picture that we could use for our holiday cards. When we discussed this with her during our pre-session planning call, Alicia was completely confident in her ability to accomplish this. We spent a lot of time discussing the dogs' personalities and explained that we didn't want to push the dogs to do anything that they didn't want to do (the greyhounds get tired quickly and then want to lay down). Alicia completely understood this. During our session, she completely respected our dogs' personalities and boundaries. She captured their attention with her positive energy and ability to understand them. I'm not sharing our group pictures because I can't let them out before the cards go out in the mail (they are incredible), but I'm attaching a picture of each of the dogs so that you can see the way that she treats each dog as an individual. I look forward to scheduling another session with Alicia!

Heather was so beyond flexible and accommodating with us as our date changed and changed again, and hung on with us until 2022 when we finally were able to have our special day on April 9th. Just to reiterate, we booked her in SUMMER OF 2019. That is true dedication. I know many other "COVID brides" who struggled with coordinating date changes with vendors, so I am so thankful that Heather always made it work for us and kept a positive attitude about everything. As far as her actual work, Heather made us feel so comfortable both during our engagement shoot and the wedding (we are shy, nerdy people who are not comfortable in front of a camera). She is friendly, very easy to talk to, and guided us perfectly as we awkwardly walked while holding hands, stared into each others' eyes and attempted to hug like human beings. She kept family photos moving along, got all the shots we needed, and had a great vision for the whole day. The photos so exceeded my expectations, and I was over the moon when I saw the final album. Thank you Heather for sticking with us and documenting the most fun and special day.

I went in fully aware of the business model--free session + a 14" portrait in exchange for sitting through a sales presentation. That part is real. The framing around "Fur Baby Legacy" is clearly designed to elevate the experience and, yes, create emotional investment. That said, the session itself was genuinely pleasant. The photographer and art director were personable and professional. The style is very formal, painterly, Old Masters-inspired--beautiful, though not something I'd personally want covering a large wall. We ended up choosing a portrait of just our dog, which we're actually excited to receive. There was a sales component, and you can feel the intention behind it. The pricing is high (to me, very high), and the wording around their retouching is carefully crafted. But in our case, it never tipped into what I would call pressure. And I think that's the key nuance. We went in already decided that we weren't purchasing anything beyond the included portrait, and we stayed consistent in that. My sense is that the experience you have here may depend quite a bit on how you engage with that part of the process. If you're undecided or emotionally pulled in, I can see how it could feel very different. So I wouldn't call it a bait-and-switch. I'd call it a clearly structured sales model wrapped in a polished and, for us, enjoyable experience. We showed up, had a nice afternoon, learned a bit about their process, will receive a portrait of our dog, and left with our deposit refunded. No regrets.

It's true what everyone else says about him making you feel really comfortable at shoots. John's extremely professional which makes it extra funny when he'll drop in something super random like "give me a sexy pose" during a shoot. On our wedding day, he showed up early and led us and our bridal party through all photos - we didn't have to think about anything, just went with his flow. There was one hitch with the location I chose for our bridal party photos but John managed to find another great spot quickly on campus before we even had a chance to leave the first one. I also want to mention John had his first baby the week prior to our wedding. I figured he must at least be exhausted but he was on top of it throughout our whole wedding day (and not to mention even before, he was responding to our emails as he was getting ready to go to the hospital for the delivery of his first born??) Anyway, my point is John is committed and you can count on him! Oxana Alex's photos are my absolute best pictures and the warmest memories I will cherish for a lifetime. The Session & Atmosphere This time, we had a maternity photoshoot at 30 weeks. I am currently pregnant with our third child. We took photos of just me, and also with my husband and children. The session took place in late October 2025 and it went simply wonderfully. Oxana is the most gentle, caring, and patient person; she creates a beautiful atmosphere on set. Hair and Makeup Oxana had an incredible makeup artist who works for various brands, but mainly has been a makeup artist for the House of Dior for many years. I had the pleasure of having my hair and makeup done by her. It was stress-free, all on time, and the hair and makeup were simply stunning. Why Oxana Alex is the Best While deciding on my concepts, I looked through the portfolios of all the photographers in LA and can confidently say that Oxana's work is the best. Oxana and her studio have undeniable advantages: 1. Unmatched Professionalism and Lighting The key to a beautiful photograph is the lighting setup. I don't know how she does it, but all her photographs, even before editing, look absolutely perfect! This speaks volumes about her skill, technique, and camera equipment. 2. Extensive Premium Wardrobe Oxana has a huge wardrobe of premium items that she offers to clients for their shoots. You can be sure to find jewelry and looks for any creative idea, and it will look cool and stylish. The most difficult part for me was coordinating outfits for my family of four without a stylist: finding, ordering and trying on. I was so happy that I didn't have to put together my own outfit at all! I only bought underwear and one white blouse for myself. That's it! Everything else was provided by Oxana and fit perfectly. I also didn't want bulky dresses, as I feel they are going out of style; I wanted to be a stylish pregnant mom with more of a fashion focus. Thanks to her extensive wardrobe, we were able to achieve this as well as beautiful maternity gowns. 3. Professional Eye and Industry Experience With over 10 years in the industry, mostly shooting major bloggers and celebrities for covers, Oxana has a huge aesthetic background and an incredible sense of taste. She helps with posing and facial expressions. Even if you are not a professional model, it's impossible not to become one through her lens. 4. Unique Photo Delivery Policy The fact that she gives you all the successful, unedited photos is truly unique for Los Angeles. You only have to choose which of the many great photos you want edited. When I sent the unedited pictures to my relatives for help choosing, they didn't understand why they even needed editing?! That's how good the originals turned out! Again, this is due to the perfectly set lighting, her technique, and her professionalism. I could go on and on describing the process and how much we all, including my husband and children, enjoyed working with Oxana yet again. But I'll just say one thing: We are already planning to return for a mommy-and-me session! And this time, we won't miss a single milestone of our fifth family member. Thank you dear Oxana

And she told me that I could take out the braid at the end of the shoot and I could have a messy wavy look so I'd have 2 hair looks instead of one! You definitely know she has a lot of experience with photoshoots, commercial, weddings etc because she knows how to do your makeup and hair to get the most out of it. I didn't even think I could have two different looks if I took down the braid. Her studio is in Santa Monica but since I was very close to it, she came to my house without an additional cost. This way we wouldn't get fooled and controlled like we were! You might like her pics online but... Please take the time to read our entire experience ( see pictures followingthe numbers, because yelp mixed all the pictures) with Diana Hinek. We were not sure about hiring Diana's service at all because $3000 it is/was steep for us. We had to save up for all the other expenses we're going to encounter w/ a newborn, private midwife, pregnancy expenses, the fact I wasn't able to work and my husband's job was going to get hit hard by COVID . She offered us a 'maternity photoshoot' included on her price package (I really wanted), so we used our emergency savings, signed the contract and paid in full by the 36th week of pregnancy just as she asked us. Because of Covid, around April/May of 2020 we didn't want to risk going out in public to do the maternity photos, baby as expected for mid-May, Diana then offered us to exchange for a newborn session and we accepted. The home delivery was nothing we expected. We had to get transferred to the hospital in a state of emergency. Diana wasn't able to come with us inside of the hospital, (understandable) so she offered to do a video of all 3 of us and a few more pictures at our home as soon as we were back and ready. I had a complicated delivery; I could barely walk for many days so we got in touch with her 2 weeks after we arrived home. She came to our home and without consulting us she already came up with a plan. She was going to film us narrating all the facts starting when we got transferred to the hospital and then she would make a video clip with the pics/video footage she took it, the ones my husband took it in the delivery room and match the audio with the images to have a story with beginning, middle and end. We didn't like the idea much and we were absolutely not ready to be looking at a camera lens to tell what happened, the whole thing was a bit traumatic, but she insisted the results would be good so we end up agreeing with her. We were concerned about syncing our voices with the images and footage since we were narrating in Spanish and Portuguese. She told us not to worry about it because she understood Spanish (she's Italian) her husband understood Portuguese (he's French I believe) and he would help her syncing our history to the images showing on the video. Ok then, we trusted her. After her visit we started having some issues with our son, we spent a lot of time going to pediatrician offices and emergency rooms. It was hard to make an appointment for the newborn photoshoot, we had to cancelled twice. One of the times we had to cancel without giving her too many days of notice, the priority it was/is my baby health!!! (We need to be clear here, because that wasn't a priority for Diana). After that, there the problems started!!!!! We were expecting to be able to choose the pictures we wanted so she can edit and add to the video. Also, the presentation, the music, the style of the editions, and the voice over we recorded, etc. Exactly like you do for a wedding or any type of photography job. For our surprise we weren't able to choose the song for the video! I was able only to say that I like, Andrea Bocelli and Bach, and she said that she would see how would work because of the song has to filled the full length of the video. !

I cannot speak highly enough of Diana, who took on a tricky assignment -- photographing a large…read moreextended family with babies and toddlers on the beach in not great weather -- and somehow pulled off INCREDIBLE pictures. I never thought it would be possible to please everybody, but our whole family loves the pictures!! Diana was so easy to work with, communicative and easygoing and kind. And her work speaks for itself! Can't wait to bring her back for more photos next year.

Let me get this out there first.... I would give Heather and Alamode photography 50 stars if I…read morecould! First, I live in Ohio and we were taking a cruise to Cabo from LA. I decided to propose to my girlfriend at the Griffith Observatory and since I knew no one in California I decided to hire a photographer to capture the moment. I conducted a blind google search and found several photographers, including Alamode Photography. I sent a request for information and received an email and phone call within a few hours. Heather was easy to talk too, excited to be apart of the proposal and trusting of her. I did talk to several other photographers but no one seemed as invested or honestly, made me feel like a friend was taking the pictures. We communicated over several weeks, exchanged ideas, and came up with a great plan. The Proposal went perfectly! Heather was early to the shoot, had locations planned for photos, and most importantly made us feel like a family member/friend was there to share the moment. Of all the photographers in LA, I couldn't have picked a better one!!! Heather and Alamode Photography is fantastic and couldn't have asked for anything more!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Heather of A La Mode Photography! I recently had a…read morematernity shoot with her on the beach in Malibu when I was 35 weeks pregnant -- and let me just say, it was pure magic from start to finish. I'm someone who's usually nervous in front of the camera and definitely not a natural when it comes to posing, but Heather made me feel so at ease. Her energy is warm, calming, and encouraging -- she truly has the best vibes. We had a phone call before the photo shoot where she talked me through her philosophy and we got to know each other. From the moment we ended that call, I knew I was in such good hands. Heather came prepared with the most beautiful gowns for me to wear, styled me with such care, and guided me into the most flattering and natural poses. And wow -- the photos she captured at sunset are beyond anything I could have dreamed. They're romantic, timeless, and full of emotion. She somehow managed to capture the absolute joy and magic that I feel about this pregnancy. I know I will cherish these photos forever. She's also incredibly easy to work with -- super responsive, organized, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She reached out to me within 15 minutes of my inquiry, which was so nice, even though it was before 8 AM!! Heather is so passionate about her work that she finds joy in connecting with new clients and perfecting photos. In fact, she got me sneak peaks of our photoshoot the same night (even though we didn't get home until after 8:30 pm) and the turnaround for the rest of the photos was extremely quick which was so appreciated. I've already booked her for our newborn shoot, and I honestly feel like I've found not just a photographer, but a friend for life. If you're on the fence about doing a maternity shoot or you're nervous like I was, trust me: book Heather. She has a gift for making women feel beautiful and empowered, and her work speaks for itself. Truly one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy!
