Now if you want to hike up the coast to an old beach covered by the lava fields (not completely) then this is your spot. Start in Kalapana then continue up the coast.....don't trespass, but you will see some cool stuff out there and the flow is less than a year old. There's an old lava tube you can hike down into and the views are awesome! There is still about 60 feet of beach left if you know how to find it.
