With so many new things coming to EP and visions finally happening (trolley system coming soon!), I'm so happy to see a completely locally owned shopping center open up. No out of state franchises, no nationwide corporation, it's all just homegrown goodness. And not just that, I do believe TI:ME can become a staple of EP, easy. The Venue at Montecillo was the first glimpse EP got at what Montecillo would be like and although there is a flow to the design, these are two completely different areas and I love it. The first thing I noticed when TI:ME was finally ready for the public was the word "Time" written in Old English Font. At first I didn't know how to feel about that...did they just take the easy way out and copy the most recognized logo for almost, I don't know, the last two hundred years, give or take? Or is it merely a coincidence, an oversight? I'm willing to bet on the former, but it grew on me and I kind of can see why going with something so easily recognizable would be eye-catching (especially for out-of-towners). I just wish they wrote "TI:ME" instead of "Time" because the colon is definitely part of the name and all caps is their actual logo (in a different font by the way...Arial Narrow maybe). I went back and forth because it does seem like a blatant ripoff of The New York Times logo...as simple as it may be. Mind you, this inner turmoil with the name took place in the matter of seconds so before I even made it up the steps I had decided I was okay with it (not that me being okay or not being okay with it really matters). TI:ME is anchored by three eateries, Catina Malolam, Stonewood, and Hillside Coffee & Donut Co. All equally impressive in design and menu. Each is completely different and has a unique style. What is the rest of TI:ME? Mostly re-purposed shipping containers. It's cost effective to work with and is just gorgeous to look at (when done right...and it's done right here). TI:ME only utilizes the first floor of the shipping containers used and although I would've loved to see the second and third floor of these containers used, I'm still a zealous fan of this, in it's very European meets San Francisco way. The shipping containers are divided up so there's anywhere from two to three boutiques in each. TI:ME was smartly designed and provides a pleasant amount of shade if you decide to stroll from shop to shop and shelters you from the noise that is Mesa St. And the collab of EXIST (check out @exist1981 on Instagram if you don't know what I'm talking about or better yet just Google it) pieces throughout the center is possibly my favorite thing about it. Also vying for my love and attention is the mixed materials used to design this place. I seriously love any place that can take old and put it with new and make it beautiful. Wood is used in many different ways here which is utterly refreshing to see in a city that usually sticks to bricks or stucco. The many woods used are mixed in with metals and cements and the occasional bricks. The only material I'm not particularly fond of is the cinder-block. It feels like an afterthought and it makes me think that wasn't originally intended to be part of the design, but was done to meet a deadline and cut costs. Not just that, the craftsmanship is shoddy at best. It appears rushed and looking at it, I don't doubt that it will need to be mended sooner rather than later. My craftsmanship remarks also apply to the brick fountain in the center of TI:ME which already has loose bricks. In TI:ME the cinder-blocks and bricks will actually look beautiful because of the natural wear and tear from the wind and rain, but to have to look at it now when it could have been built a little better is just a tad disappointing (see what I did there at the beginning of the sentence,,,eh, eh?). Regardless of the far and few kinks of TI:ME, I absolutely am obsessed with it and the surrounding Monticello area (and what it will be very soon)! I think they did a great job executing a brilliant idea.

I wanted a quick photo! We drove over early in the morning, before most of the shops even opened. This meant less people walking around and less cars coming in and out of the parking lot. To get a good photo of the entire wall, you have to step back and into the car path of travel. It's a mural, it was a nice photo op. Nothing really bad to say.

It was our first time there. We wanted to see what other businesses were nearby. It's pretty nice and includes: restaurants, a doggy spa, kids playground area, a blowout place, two brewery type bars, a rolled ice cream place, a nail salon, barbershop and more. There's still some empty suites. I'm sure they'll be filled in time. The shopping center is especially convenient for those who live in the area. There's new houses and apartments closeby. I know Marco's Pizza delivers to these homes. The other nearby restaurants may also offer the option. I'm excited to see what else is coming to this shopping center. I'll definitely be back because there's other places I want to visit.

There are quite a few businesses packed in and actually still a few empty retail spaces as well so it should be interesting to see what else starts springing up in or around this location. Nice to see a few new store locations specifically in the NE area. The stores that are open are presently organized and clean. A few quick in-and-out restaurants such as Chipotle, Menchie's, and Southern Smoke BBQ are here. There are the "typical" shopping center style stores. Dollar Tree, Ross, Marshall's, Petco, Rack Room Shoes, Big Lots, and Super Cuts to name a few. I am not a Wal-Mart fan but for those of you who are, there is a Wal-Mart here too. Most of the businesses are within walking distance, located side by side and attached by a sidewalk, while others are detached so you may want to maneuver to certain stores in your vehicle versus walking across the large sized parking lot.

This shopping center is fabulous; it has roundabouts to help move traffic and there is so much here- a really nice movie theater with a microbrewery and comfy seats, a ramen place, a salad place, Jersey Mikes, Five Guys, a crab and lobster seafood place, all the fast food places, Canes and Boss chicken places, a Freddy's, a huge Walmart with a gas station and good prices, a European Waxing Center, a Postal Annex, Ross, Home goods/ TJ max, Five Below, Cabellas sporting goods, three ice cream/frozen yogurt places, sushi, Pieology, a regular pizza place, Chipotle, Nekter juice bar, a nail place and a lash place...and I know I am forgetting tons! The place is nicely landscaped and well maintained. There are outdoor speakers playing nice music as you stroll around. I am so grateful that they planned an built this. Now that just about everything is set up and businesses have moved in, I get the point and it is a welcomed feature. With all of the new housing development in the area, hopefully this cuts down on traffic to the Mesa and Sunland Park areas which are only minutes away. The West Towne market has a Walmart which is always packed. In addition a Chick-fil-a, McDonalds, Menchies, Starbucks, Ross, TJ Maxx, Cabela's, Sushi Fresh, BOSS Chicken and Custard, Baked Bear, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, Pieology Pizza, and more stores are opening soon including a movie theater. El Paso is growing so much from the East to the West of the city, some people don't make the trip across town and may not have to with all of the new developments popping up. I just wonder what else is going to occupy the open vacant areas.

They also sell prints and paintings by local artists. What's even better is that it's a local business (well how could it not be?)! Every time I've gone, the employees are super friendly and helpful. I always end up talking and talking with them. Another thing I like about Chuco Relic is that they help the community often. I should say they also try to help people in our state! Back when Hurricane Harvey happened in Houston, they raised money for them by selling merchandise. I recently purchased an El Paso Strong t-shirt from them for $10. I pre-ordered it so it came out to $10 less. I'm always excited to help local businesses succeed, especially when they help others here and around Texas. If you're looking for an El Paso-inspired gift, this is a good place to go.

Cinema, fun restaurants, nice stores, cute toddler play area, water splash area for the hot summers, plenty of food options in its food court, huge class six, different barber shops, bank etc etc. This may sound corny but I have known many people who dislike the idea of visiting Fort Bliss but Freedom Crossing definitely makes makes it better. You can come here without a vehicle, experience it and have fun. Areas like this make military members feel like command actually cares for soldiers and their families.
