This mall was not unlike many bigger malls in the US and features a few better quality department stores, a cinema, large gym, a couple really solid restaurants, numerous kiosks, and even one of the last surviving Sears locations. Security is often seen patrolling the parking lot, keeping this facility and those patronizing it safe.

From the childhood days of exploring the WB Store and Discovery Channel store (yes I'm showing my age), teenage years working at Abercrombie and Hollister, to my 20s buying every damn 1MX shirt at Express for the clubs and bars, this mall was a staple. Situated smack dab in the center of El Paso off of I10, it has still held its ground in the dystopian closures of malls and when the grand structures of what once held down America are becoming few and in-between. This mall is still running strong and I have to say that free parking at this mall is such a blessing. It's a tad surreal how you get used to paying for parking to shop in other cities, so it's refreshing lol. Yes some stores might not be ideal and someone is bound to offer you a "free sample" in a kiosk, but it's a fun place to experience time to time.

I tried a new snack at Frontera Coffee Co. It was fun to try something new even though I have visited the outlet mall many times. I felt so adventurous! Frontera is definitely eclectic. You can order coffee, tea, pastries, and items like elote or in my case loaded Doritos. The loaded Doritos were a medley of flavors: peanuts, queso, cucumber, jicama and more all in one bag! Very unique. I recommend The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso.

Plenty of everything out here, from Nike to Banana Republic, it's a well set up outlet. Folks are friendly here, both crowds and the store help. Old Navy is having a 50% off most things sale this weekend. The kids enjoyed some Annie's Pretzels, but they have plenty of other food vendors on the complex. On my watch list now is Lonesome Dove and on my read list is Empire of the Summer Moon. To be honest with you, since the training is at Safety Town at Bassett around dinner time, I've been disinclined to eat there since the food court has really terrible Asian food, they just give you a lot to make up for it. BUT yesterday I found a hidden gem, literally it's in the far right corner of the food court. I think it's called Mr. C - Snack Shop which is really odd because it has everything from burgers to tortas, to loaded fries. They also have all the agua frescas, and fresh fruits alongside the snacks like elotes and chilindras. This carne asada torta was the bomb. So much flavor, they weren't stingy with the meat and I only got one gristly piece of meat. It's filled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado salsa. It comes with hand made fries which I normally don't like since they're limp and have skin attached, BUT these fries were covered with cheese sauce! Omg that just brought it to the next level... Best of all, it was around $10 which is a deal for the food court and in these inflationary times. Oh and all the movies at the mall on Tuesday are $5.75 all day! You want a safe place to play for your kiddos that they can climb? There's a kiddie area in the food court and I saw them sanitizing it pretty regularly, alongside the Easter Bunny pics. I admit I never really go to Bassett mall unless there's a big event, like this weekend's Kids Fair, or shop at Costco, but there are still local stores doing their best to survive and we can go and #supportlocal

Since the first time I ever venture to this mall they have done some renovations. They have worked…read moreon a new food court, which is decent. Other than that it's not much going on here. They have a Dave and busters, express, target, few other stores and even a movie theater. The movie theater is the reason I normally come back. Since it's one of the smaller ones I have noticed it's never packed which is really nice! So shopping doesn't get as crazy as it would at the other malls. There are several people mainly seniors that are walking together as a exercising routine. One thing I would caution anyone is that Costco is right close by and their gas station is over by Dave and busters entrance, with that being said be carefully when going in and coming out because the gas station is always packed with cars in line.

This shopping center is fabulous; it has roundabouts to help move traffic and there is so much here- a really nice movie theater with a microbrewery and comfy seats, a ramen place, a salad place, Jersey Mikes, Five Guys, a crab and lobster seafood place, all the fast food places, Canes and Boss chicken places, a Freddy's, a huge Walmart with a gas station and good prices, a European Waxing Center, a Postal Annex, Ross, Home goods/ TJ max, Five Below, Cabellas sporting goods, three ice cream/frozen yogurt places, sushi, Pieology, a regular pizza place, Chipotle, Nekter juice bar, a nail place and a lash place...and I know I am forgetting tons! The place is nicely landscaped and well maintained. There are outdoor speakers playing nice music as you stroll around. I am so grateful that they planned an built this. The business need support to stay of course - and I am helping any way I can! I utilize as many of the shops as I can.

Now that just about everything is set up and businesses have moved in, I get the point and it is a welcomed feature. With all of the new housing development in the area, hopefully this cuts down on traffic to the Mesa and Sunland Park areas which are only minutes away. The West Towne market has a Walmart which is always packed. In addition a Chick-fil-a, McDonalds, Menchies, Starbucks, Ross, TJ Maxx, Cabela's, Sushi Fresh, BOSS Chicken and Custard, Baked Bear, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, Pieology Pizza, and more stores are opening soon including a movie theater. El Paso is growing so much from the East to the West of the city, some people don't make the trip across town and may not have to with all of the new developments popping up. I just wonder what else is going to occupy the open vacant areas.

Cinema, fun restaurants, nice stores, cute toddler play area, water splash area for the hot summers, plenty of food options in its food court, huge class six, different barber shops, bank etc etc. This may sound corny but I have known many people who dislike the idea of visiting Fort Bliss but Freedom Crossing definitely makes makes it better. You can come here without a vehicle, experience it and have fun. Areas like this make military members feel like command actually cares for soldiers and their families.
