Popped round to fox with a friend for dinner and the food was DELICIOUS. Genuinely the best pizza, carbonara and sticky date pudding I've ever had. I was so distracted by how great the food looked and smelled I forgot to take photos of the entree and the mains but holy smokes they were divine! The place has such a chill and relaxing vibe, and the service was absolutely outstanding. They're super friendly, and super helpful, clearly run by a super close knit team I even had the privilege of chatting to the new owners who have just taken over and I'm so excited to have gotten to hear about all the plans for this place! This place legit makes one of the best pastas i've had in ages. And its in Footscray! A brave move but well worth it. This place has a lot of promise and i reckon is going to do super well. Fox in the Corn is a beer bar that specializes in pasta. Beer and pasta??? Sign me up! There is a HUGE list of craft beers to pick from its overwhelming lol and all the reason why you'd go back! They have some wine as well and house sodas that you can request to have some vodka or other basic spirit to put in. There are 3 types of pastas to pick from and a good assortment of different sauces to pick from. My partner and i had fettuccine in creamy mushroom and leek sauce & spinach and ricotta ravioli in basil pesto and garlic panko sauce. They were both to die for. The pasta was cooked perfectly and each of the sauces had their own unique zing to it as was oh so creamy and buttery. They had a pork belly broth sauce that i so will be going back to try!!! If pasta is too heavy for you they also offer cheese and meat boards - again i am super keen to go back and try. Shout out to who i think is the owner - he was super nice, super helpful, super enthusiastic and clearly proud of the establishment. Was always on the ball with making sure the customers were right and was keen to hear on feedback of any sort. He also informed us that eventually they will be able to allow customers to buy beers to takeaway! Sometimes it's the simple combinations that excite us the most. Fish and chips, fried chicken and beer, eggs on toast, ham and cheese, the list goes on. Hiding in the quiet streets of Footscray lies Fox on the Corn, with a combination which will probably surprise you that there isn't more of it. Pasta and beer. Two pastas, nine sauces and the beer is taken to the extreme with eight on tap and a few hundred bottles. The interior is as simple as the menu with a lightly stained timber furnishings, white walls and black ceiling and floor. The bar, counter and kitchen in one corner of the space, a series of booths wrapping around the front edges, a large group table in the middle and the takeaway beer shelving in the other corner. Adjoining the rear of the kitchen is a small courtyard-style bar named Honeycomb Hideout with a beer selection and pizzas, entrance is via the rear of the building from Dennis Street. Food offerings starts with the choice of fettuccine or ravioli pasta, with the further choice of a spinach and ricotta or beef and vegetable filling. Sauces include classics such as creamy carbonara and napoli and some more hearty options such as slow cooked beef ragu, smoked salmon and pancetta with leek. The pasta is even made by the owners' other venture, a pasta factory, although this has temporarily changed due to a fire at the factory. Olives, jamon, a charcuterie board and some side salads are also available. The fettuccine with slow cooked beef ragu was ordered on this visit. It's difficult to fully describe what good pasta tastes and feels like, but you just know. The beef ragu was rich and flavoursome and fell apart in your mouth. Dessert options include cannoli, cakes from Sweet by Nature and ice cream from Gundowering. Fox in the Corn is also open for weekend lunches with coffee from Monk Bodhi Drama, hot chocolate from Monsieur Truffle and a range of leaf tea available. Now for the beer. The eight taps constantly rotate with a general selection of a lager, pale ale, IPA, dark ale, sour, fruit sour, wild and cider. Over 200 bottles are also available to dine in or takeaway and organised by genre in the extensive menu. Owner Josh knows his beer and knows it well, and provided advice on choices and a mini sampling journey. His home brew and shrubs also make appearances from time to time. Fox in the Corn leads the way for quality and extensive beer selections in a restaurant environment, where wine usually reigns, and it is hoped more follow suit. In the mean time, the venture out into the westerns suburbs will certainly not disappoint. read more

We very randomly had to send the night in the area after an event at the Showgrounds. We were starving and wandered off looking for a feed. There are a dozen great looking Vietnamese joints in the area but we felt like carbs and the pizza/pasta options at Fox in the corn looked perfect. One of us is a total beer geek and was excited at the range of craft beers on offer. We were greeted to a quiet restaurant late on a Sunday night by very gracious staff. She recommended the carbonara. We had 3 pasta dishes which were all ridiculously good. Homemade pasta with a lot of love and super high quality ingredients. Great balance in the sauces and a diverse range of beer and wine to match. The garlic bread pizza was also incredible . If I am ever back in Footscray I will make this my first point of call! Okay so I took the lovely here for a quick dinner. And I must say the pasta is actually pretty good. It's nothing over the top, and the decor could be better. Actually thinking about it the decor I'd say was it's biggest let down. All I wanted to do was get takeaway due to the unpleasantness of the seats and layout. Otherwise the pizzas are great and well priced. The pasta was a tasty joy, and easy to select. Staff were also pretty knowledgeable and friend which came across as a tad surprising considering it's got a real takeaway vibe to it. read more

I should preface this with: I love pasta. So, it makes sense that I would love a place that only really serves pasta (and has like 100s of different types of beer). Vegetarian pasta sauce options are limited, and some could say dull, but their meat based options are tasty and their pasta cooked al dente. read more

The food was tasty but a bit limited in terms of choice, the decor very hipster and as a consequence quite noisy. Perhaps better suited to groups than couples, the choice of beers was staggering, to the point of confusing. Still we may return with a group of friends. read more
