If you're tired of eating the same mediocre, re-heated seafood, fries and local flatbread and want a new lease on what fine dining and drinks can represent, look no further than Bagno 79's New Bar Four Stars.
New Bar Four Stars has been family owned since 1977 but starting this year in 2018 the old owner retired and his son got tired of running the show as well. The daughter stayed on with her husband and children hiring an entire new cadre of staff. From the new chef who has energized all their recipies and brought many new ones by concentrating on fresh instead of bulk purchased seafood, to the enthusiastic new young waiters and bartenders who have a wealth of knowledge of the local cuisine as all Italians are so proud of their heritage this place certainly delivers.
It's a lot of fun to come by and start talking to the staff about delicious food and drink. It won't take long to talk up an apetite and their descriptions are accurate because when they tell you it's good, it's tasty, fresh, delicious and memorable. There's always something new, a new spice they add or a new gin and tonic combo with over a dozen gins and half a dozen fancy tonics. Their seafood apetizers, salads, mussels and pasta dishes are all very particular and freshly made. Many times they will offer the same fish but with 2 or 3 different recipes; it's fun to ask the waiter or waitress which one is their favorite and order that one. The truth is that they are all good so it's impossible to decide once you've tried them all! The prices have more or less stayed the same and the staff is very generous about letting people try free samples of the new recipies, especially their old regulars.
The service is also wonderful and delivered in a made with love kind of way because these people are proud of their town, proud of their heritage, and proud of who they are and what they do. More than ever, it's exciting and fun to eat here, it doesn't cost a lot for the location and what they deliver and there's always a smile, a nice thing to hear or a secret new recommendation about their recipies or their specials.
If you're in the area, and even if you're quite not and looking to eat at a beach bar, this is one of the places in Rimini that is not a tourist trap and delivers consistently high quality at, for what is given, a reasonable price. Even if you're not that close, it's worth a good walk or drive to come here. I would say one thing: the local area is full of not just hotels, but also apartments, more than most areas in Rimini. What does it tell you when see the locals who live in all those apartments eat here repeatedly and not at the cadre of the dozens of surrounding restaurants? read more
