I have nothing but good things to say about Four Paws! The owners and staff are great. It's a very easygoing environment, everyone is always so friendly. The same employees have been there for a long time, which is comforting to me because they really know my dogs. Videos and pictures of the dogs are posted daily and you can see that they're all having a blast. My dogs get SO excited in the car when they realize we're getting close! They are always happy and excited at drop off and pickup so it's clear that they love their time there! I would recommend Four Paws over and over. read more

We've been using the services at Four Paws Playground in Bloomsbury, NJ for nearly seven years, and I can't say enough good things about this place. Their playground for puppies and dogs is truly wonderful -- filled with fun toys, a safe and well-kept facility, and even a swimming pool during the summer months that the dogs absolutely love. I'd also like to give a special thank you to Mike, the owner, who led a six-week obedience training class for my dog Yofi and me. Mike's knowledge, patience, and dedication are extraordinary. He takes the time to explain best practices, and his approach makes both dogs and owners feel supported and successful. We have used Four Paws several times during vacations. My dog always comes back happy. The staff are wonderful. Since this week he was there for more than 2 nights he received a free bath (must be requested day of pick up) and came back very clean. We are so happy with Four Paws! We had an unfortunate experience at a "luxury pet resort" down the road and felt hesitant to put our faith in another facility since we were so disappointed in the first one. Our 8 month old black lab, Dallas, is growing FAST and needs lots of attention. I am 7 months pregnant and really needed a hand with fulfilling our pup's energy. Because of this, we were anxious to get him into the routine of a doggy daycare to help socialize him and get him active. Dallas loves car rides. Unfortunately, his poor experience at the other facility had him crying and whimpering when I'd bring him out to hop in the car and go anywhere, because he started to associate the car with the bad experiences he was having. We discovered he was not getting the playtime we were promised at the other facility, so naturally he was associating the car with going to a place where he'd be locked away for several hours instead of having fun and being around other dogs and people. After pulling the plug on the other facility, we started to seek other options. I began hearing about Four Paws, and I decided to give them a call. I spoke with the owner, Myke. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and patient on the phone with me as I asked her a million questions and explained my worries. She assured me that the dogs are on a play / rest hourly rotation for the entire length of their daycare day, and she even mentioned their distinct efforts to enforce "house rules" and manners while the dogs are interacting with each other and the staff - which is exactly what our young boy needs. Their "Puppy Wednesday" program is an awesome option, too! We've had Dallas at Four Paws twice now, and plan to continue each week. He is so happy when we pick him up (but luckily he's not pulling us to get off the property immediately like he would at the other facility!) He is starting to trust the car again, since he hasn't been going back to the other facility. When we pick him up from Four Paws he comes home exhausted and ready for dinner and a good night's sleep. Lastly, I'd like to mention the genuine kindness they've shown myself and my family. Knowing I am pregnant, they've been extremely accommodating and helpful in coming out to my car to get Dallas in and out for me. They also gave my Mom a hand when she brought him in for me one day. In addition, I had forgotten they do not accept credit cards. I came at closing time to pick up Dallas and realized I did not have cash to pay. I panicked because it was closing time and I knew if I ran to the ATM it would've required them to stay late. The owner was understanding and trusting of me (which she definitely didn't need to be, considering we are still getting to know each other!) and she told me to bring the money next week when Dallas came back. I delivered the payment the very next morning to make sure she knew how much I appreciated that. They run their business with professionalism while still remaining human and treating others the same. It's so evident that they are personally invested in their day to day operations and have a deep love for dogs. We are thrilled to have found a place we can trust with our fur baby! read more

When we rescued our Pitbull, we didn't know where to turn for daycare and boarding; our neighbors immediately recommended Four Paws. Four Paws has become a partner in raising our dog and making him happy, healthy and a very good boy! Furthermore, Four Paws is flexible and convenient. My husband and I are very active in the community and Four Paws, always being there for us, allows us to go out into the community and do our good work without worrying about our baby. We were thrilled to take our dog Brooke to four paws, we had tried others but with no success, so we were told, she wasn't able to adapt to other dog, she is a rescue so we weren't sure ourselves and never tried in fear of the outcome, after one day there, Brooke not only mingled with other dogs, she ran, played and made friends. Tammy was the one that told us the procedure on "trying her out", and to our surprise she was great from the beginning. Picking her up was a nice surprise as well, they had taken MANY photos of Brooke playing and smiling. Needless to say we could not be happier. When we first got our new puppy, he was very anxious and would not approach people or other animals without either barking or nipping. Our vet recommended taking him to Four Paws Playground, and a friend of ours told us about how they offer Puppy Wednesdays at a reduced price compared to a normal day rate. We have had the most incredible experience so far, and we have seen a huge difference in our puppy over the last few months with just attending one day a week! He is practically dragging us out of the car when we pull up to drop him off. The staff is wonderful and their prices are very reasonable. I am honestly sad that I must write this review as I like to support local small businesses. I feel that my experience is important for other dog owners who are considering Four Paws for boarding. I found Four Paws through my cousin who said some of her friends liked it and I decided to board my 2 dogs there for our family vacation. Although there were some minor red flags (they never asked for shot records from my vet and they only have curbside drop and pickup so I never actually saw the inside) they really seemed to care about their clients and the feedback from other owners I chatted with in the parking lot was good. All seemed to go well- I checked in by email while away and was sent pictures of my pups who seemed to be having a good time. And then I got the call that no dog owner wants to get. I was walking in the door from the airport when Four Paws called to tell me one of my dogs was seriously injured and was being taken to the emergency vet! I was devastated and ran out the door to the vet clinic to be told that her leg had been broken in two places. When I asked the owners of Four Paws what happened they had no idea - just that they noticed that she wasn't "walking right" in the play yard. The injury required extensive surgery with 5 pins being inserted to stabilize it while the bone healed. The explanation I was given of what happened - that she "must have run into a door frame" was laughed at by the 2 vets treating her. The severity of her injury was caused by some type of hard blow or crushing and there was no way she could have done that by running into something. To be clear - the owners have done the right thing and have paid for all her medical bills which have run into thousands of dollars. And to be clear - this review is meant to provide information to other pet parents when making that important decision of who to leave your dogs with. I can only guess that the reason my pup was injured was due to a lack of staffing and that their crate free boarding method put my dog at risk for injury. But at the end of the day, I sadly have no answers for exactly what happened to my baby at Four Paws. The good news is that they were able to save her leg and after 3 months of medical care the bones have healed and her pins are removed. She has such a sweet disposition and has overcome the pain and discomfort like a champ. I am grateful to the vets at Crown Veterinary Clinic in Lebanon for their expert care. Dog parents - please do your research on boarding facilities and if something does not seem right, listen to your gut. You and your pups will be much better off! read more

I never leave reviews but Four Paws service is so terrible I felt I should save other pet owners the trouble of going through the horrible experience. I called two hours before the pickup because on their website it says there is a complimentary bathing for my dog. When I arrived two hours later, my dog smelled like urine and I was informed that she didn't eat well, that she just "nibbled". Upon hearing this I nicely asked for the remaining dog food to which he started to get nasty and replied there is none. I gave 4 days of dog food, because on their website they suggest you bring an extra day's worth, my dog stayed 3 days, on the instructions I labeled to "feed her once in the morning and if she eats the food, once more in the evening". I don't know how there can be absolutely no food remaining, especially if my dog only "nibbled" on the food. About my dog's smell he said that he put her in the pool. On their website it says a complimentary bathing when you call ahead. I don't see how a pool swim is a bath. The worker tried to switch the blame to us and tried to say that I didn't ask for her to be bathed, but again that was the whole point of calling two hours ahead, it's not required, we could have just went and picked her up. TLDR: Terrible experience. The worker was lazy tried to throw the dog in the pool as a bath, took the dog food and then yelled and blamed us. Do not recommend. read more

I can't say enough good things about this facility! We use to go to another daycare right down the road that we decided to leave after having a suspicion that they were not actually letting our dog out to play more than once a day. Since having our dog go here he is happier, way more exercised, and has much better manners with other dogs! You can tell they really play with the animals and encourage them to interact with others too with actual supervision. We got a second dog knowing we had them to provide care while we work! We also took training classes with Mike and are overjoyed with the results! It's a group training group so we got to work with our dog which is always great so you can tailor their commands. Super reasonable rates too. So happy with all of their services!!! read more

i used to dread having to leave my dogs in someone else care. This is the first place I ever found where I am comfortable leaving them. My male loves this place so much that if we drive by and don't pull in to drop him off he starts barking and whining. When we go to pick him up, he comes out with his usually enthusiastic greeting and then tries to drag us back in to meet his new friends. I've never before found a place that my dog so thoroughly enjoys. The one time my dog got too rough with another and got bit, they took him to the vet and took care of the matter and they did let us know. I highly recommend this place. read more

We have used 4-paws for a few years, but just recently we returned from vacation to learn that our dog had a seizure. This in itself was not the issue, except for the fact that we spoke to the owner while away, and he chose to say NOTHING about it. He took away our ability to make decisions about our family member. Will never take my pups here! Two of my friends worked here for a couple years and both said the same thing about the facility. The kennel is dirty, the pups are rarely given water inside and only drink from communal water bowls outside, sometimes they all don't get dinner, and a majority of the dogs are crated! My one friend was even yelled at for taking the time to give personal water bowls to dogs (it was a waste of company time). They don't upkeep on any damages and the main room (the green room) is stacked with crates on crates, which is why they don't show that during the tour. The owners are terrible to their employees and treat them like garbage. They've had over 200+ dogs lodging with only two employees working... dog fights happen consistently as a result of sharing water bowls. They've even had dogs escape the facility. A majority of the employees there are really young with no experience in pet care and are rarely trained. If you really do love your pups, please don't take them here... there is so much the owners are hiding. read more

My dog LOVES it here. They truly have love for the animals and I say this because my dog is extremely fearful of people as a result of abuse from her previous owner and she responds so well to all of the staff. I love that they have crate less boarding but the option of having a crate if necessary. My dog's crate is her safe haven and is a great way of calming her down when she gets an overload of anxiety. Four Paws was willing to give my rather difficult dog a chance. He has some anxiety and socialization issues and can be bitey when nervous. After some time with him the very caring staff just seemed to "get" him. They manage to make him comfortable although I can't say he loves being there which is a shame but it is NOT their fault. They do a wonderful job caring for him while we are away and deal with his issues. They are able to get him to socialize and know which dogs to group him with for the best results. He always comes home happy and very tired so I know he was playing. They share photos with me of him with other dogs when we board him and it's wonderful to see him just being a dog! read more
