We started getting calls from the director to come pick up early, or , will not be able to attend. Arrived for normal pick up days sometimes to observe college age interns as the only supervision on site, sitting at picnic tables, sunning, while the children were at least 50 yards away arguing over some toy. These staff were not actually actively engaged and only engaged when they felt discipline was necessary. I think I observed one episode of guided creative play while my child attended (about 6~ weeks). Any other parents have similar experiences here?

My son did well at the preschool program for almost a year and a half. He has some…read moremedical/behavioral issues which they were beyond helpful about working with him to address. As with most preschool/daycare programs, there is a mix of kids of varying ability levels and backgrounds. There is also a mix of younger and older staff. They are all adults with the younger ones typically in college for education/child development. I found the management was very open to feedback and questions about my child or the program/staff. All daycares/preschools have their staff/program quirks, but I always felt good about leaving my son in their care. I found them to be the most responsive child care providers out of all the ones I've tried over the years for either of my kids. I also found that they were the most honest and conscientious of any place I've been about keeping staffing ratios and safety measures in compliance. I found them very responsive, even proactive, and willing to work with me on anything. The summer camp experience is a little different from the school year program, but they are always making changes to improve the program. They genuinely care about the kids. You can tell some places are all about the money and don't care about the quality or improving programming. Because of the setting of the school, the kids are able to have some really great experiences that they won't get in almost any other daycare/school setting. Both of my kids rave about Channel 3 kids camp. My son has many fond memories of his preschool time.

My daughter had birth to three services and the staff were wonderful with our speech pathologist. They always took her suggestions to heart and it truly bettered our daughter. They have been fantastic. We've been there for almost two years and both my daughters are happy and thriving there. The teachers are wonderful. There is not a high staff turnover which was difficult to deal with at our old daycare. When we pick up our daughters they are always with the same staff unless someone is sick or on vacation. There are some younger staff but they are out with staff who are older to help them grow as teachers and the younger teachers make the room more exciting and bring fun new ideas. Many of the staff members have been there for years which is a sign the daycare runs well and is managed well. We are very happy with our experience at the Stork Club.

In fact my rating would have been a 4 or 5 but we had some issues which became a hassle so we ended up going back to our last day care facility. If your child has allergy or asthma you might want to consider trying a different place or maybe a different location. I don't know what the fundamental difference was between here and the other places we've gone too but they had constant issues with the paper work provided by our allergist. After a few months of going back and forth, we felt it wasn't worth the hassle.

There are also after kindergarten programs if you'd like your kindergartener to have a full day of school. Prices are very reasonable considering the level and quality of the programs here. The teachers are great, and the teacher to student ratio is excellent (3 kids to 1 teacher in the 3 year old program). The entire facility is very aware of childhood allergies, and if your child has a sensitivity of any kind, it is addressed. This is great to keep in mind. Fortunately, my kids aren't allergic to anything, but I understand what a challenge this for other families.

I chose this day care because my sister already had her son (3 y/o) enrolled since he was 12 weeks old and they've always loved it. He is learning so much and is having so much more fun than if I had tried to continue working from home, splitting my attention. This isn't just childcare while I'm at work; it's more like enrichment for baby with all the toys, craft projects, learning and people to socialize with. They even give him extra attention at the end of the day because he's usually last to get picked up, he must feel popular. When I come get him, he's always laughing and having fun. I've even seen kids cry during pick-up at end the of day because they're having so much fun & don't want to go home lol. I'm a real nervous nelly and always worry about safety & just the first week he spent here had me feeling totally secure about the level of care and safety precautions in place here, I could immediately tell he was never ever left to cry either which is very important to me. Until he started day care I would hold him for all his naps and the first part of the night lol and never let him cry, so of course he wouldn't fall asleep in the crib and the wonderful ladies here held him for his naps until he could gently get used to napping in a crib. Now he's in with the toddlers napping as scheduled like a champ. They really go above & beyond in every way that I can even think of. They send us pictures and video throughout the day and the toddlers are sitting nicely together and even sitting on their own mats in circle time to read and sing. It's amazing! They also have a very safe outdoor play area my son is obsessed with. Somehow, they manage to have the toddlers start to form lines and they go in and out of the play area in an orderly way I'd expect from kindergarteners. I'd assume any child who's been going here is going to be leagues ahead when it's time to enter the school system, they are learning so much! He is so happy and LOVES the staff here, he was literally diving into their arms during drop-off, smiling so big, by 6 months old! The staff help each baby through every milestone and difficulty, and it seems their speech develops so much faster from being there as well. I also noticed staff from the baby room working in the toddler room while my baby was transitioning, which I find so refreshing that he didn't have to just go into a new room with all new people right away during his stranger-danger phase. They are also great at logging intake and elimination each day so you can keep track. Since my son has started here there has not been once single incident, not one single injury, nor one single time that I've been unhappy or felt like I had anything to complain or worry about which is absolutely amazing! Additionally, they are obviously diligent about sanitizing because my baby has only been sick twice this entire year, so there seems like minimal spread when anyone does get sick. I can't even say enough about this day care, it's wonderful.
