Expiration Policy Issue I used FIS for a credential evaluation in 2020. At the time, I thought the report would always remain valid, since my academic degree obviously hasn't changed. Recently, I needed to send the same report to another university, but FIS told me that their reports "expire" after 5 years and that I would need to pay again for a new evaluation. To me, this feels unreasonable. The evaluation was already completed and nothing about my degree has changed. Other services, like Educational Perspectives (EP), allow you to share the same verified report years later through secure platforms like Parchment/Digitary. That way, the institution can still receive and verify the report without students having to pay again. So my advice to other students is: If you think you may need to use the same report again in the future, be aware that with FIS you might have to pay for a full new evaluation after 5 years. I hope FIS will consider changing this policy to be more student-friendly. read more

The most inept people I've ever heard of! My girlfriend paid for Same Day Service to have her education credentials evaluated by this service and it took them four days to send out the evaluation with a delivery date of 3 to 10 business days. This delay may mean that she won't pass the vetting process for a prospective job that could change her life. In addition, they charged her card three times and now, four days later, she's still waiting to receive a refund for the two extra charges. She's sent them several emails in an attempt to rectify these wrongs, but to no avail so far. She's asking for a full refund, but it is my feeling that they will probably refuse. I'm a little surprised from the other reviews, my experience with having them evaluate my wife's Juris Doctorate degree from Spain was great after a terrible experience with another provider. (Do not use Educational Perspectives!) So, if you're from Spain, I'd recommend them, they seem to understand the system well. That said, the translation we sent was excellent and the layout was exactly the same as the original, which might have helped, so make sure you have that done as well. read more

My bad experiences from this company: I paid the money in 2/23/2021, I should receive the report in 3/8 (14 days later)! It's a deal. Deal is deal. But I don't get the report in 3/8, until I write to ask the response that it will finish in 3/22 (postpone another 13 days) because of their separation of report edition. I did tell this company in 3/12 and 3/16, it's over the deadline to submit, and just send me a report without separation. I will pay the extra money. But no any response. Until 3/18, I ask when I can get the report? The response is it will finish in 3/22. They didn't take the initiative to inform you that they postpone the reply report, until I ask in 3/22. Also, I told you I will pay the extra money and just send me a report twice. No any response. I told you, 3/22 is not acceptable, over my deadline to submit. They still do nothing. They totally don't consider about customer's need and don't submit the report in time. Postpone to your report without telling you in advance. The worst thing they didn't even say was sorry! I try to be nice, but they can't be trusted!!! So bad!! read more

They evaluated my master's degree from a Swedish university as a bachelor's degree. They did not communicate at all on the criterias they were going to use beforehand. I paid $190 for expedite processing and their customer support is terrible. Stay away from them and look for better alternatives even if it takes longer to evaluate your credentials. In comparison WES which is much more rigorous in their process evaluated it correctly as a master's degree. read more

AWFUL, AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I had the most negative experience using Foundation For International Services for my course- to-course evaluation. Three years ago, they messed up my course semester credits. They changed several of my 2-3 semester units classes to 1 semester unit. I had to complain through various e-mails to get that corrected, which significantly delayed my school application at that time. Three years later, I requested another copy of my course-to-course evaluation. The shipment fee should be $30.00. However, they refused to ship it unless I pay an extra $70.00 for for them to create an updated version, which I don't need. Very awful services. I do not recommended this company to anyone unless you don't mind being ask to pay extra fee for things you didn't ask for. read more

If you need to have your diplomas certified do not use them. I have sent many diplomas to them and they are not competent in what they are supposed to do. They were not able to look for the informations that they needed to do the evaluation and I had to send them links for them to do their work (they could have googled or looked at the government website but I guess that's too difficult). They are not receptive to what you are asking them and there are not a lot of infos on their website. Also don't expect to have you certification on time. read more

1. Unprofessional service- grading transferring: (1) They didn't communicate upfront the grading transferring criteria and even changed the system they used when I asked for it. (2) They did not adhere to the official grading system published on my school's website and defined by the official national education department. 2. Wrong charge of my card It's shown $50 on the website, but when I completed the payment they charged $100 on my card. Although 1 day later they refunded $50, there was no communication and explanation at all. read more

Avoid. Avoid. I was initially pleased with the promptness of their services. however, they do not adhere to my University's grading policy. It is a 3 year undergraduate course with different weightage for first (0%), second (40%) and third (60%) year grades. This means whatever I got in my first year does not count towards my overall degree class. However, FIS refuses to accept this, saying it is their internal policy to count all 3 years- WAIT- but the actual University that graded me does not count it so what makes you assume you can count it. My GPA can possible change if it is corrected. But they refuse to change it. Through WES I have a higher GPA. BUT because FIS did my undergraduate and graduate transcripts, I have to submit FIS' transcripts. now you may ask why not submit WES for undergrad and FIS for grad. Because FIS refuses to seperate my transcripts. They say they will only give a combined undergrad and grad transcript. Following mutliple requests via email, with cold, rude, passive aggresive responses, I am left with no other option! I have to use theirs, because I cannot use another $300 to revise my evaluation. As an accreditation agency, working so closely with students, one would expect some understanding, but nope- praying my PhD apps dont get messed by all this discrepancy.! read more

They absolutely do not consider the educational context of the school or the school's grading system. The so-called 'analysts' here demonstrate a strong lack of understanding towards differences in educational systems and grading. I very strongly do NOT recommend using FIS, go elsewhere!!! In their grading scale for England, they have only considered 3 possible grades: A, B, and F. A grading scale utilizing only A, B, and F is minimal (at best) and does not adequately capture the grades of the British scoring system. For example, scores of 50-69 are lumped together as a solid "B," with no inclusions of a B+ or B-. This significantly 'erases' the true grade received. A barely passing score of 50 cannot possibly be grouped together with a very high score of 69 as a "B" but rather should be distinguished between a B-, B, and B+ . This evaluation report I was given for my Master's course is inaccurate and frankly, reflects quite poorly on FIS, especially given the very high fees!!! read more

Not recommended. While it was nice of them to give me a preview of my US GPA before proceeding with the full evaluation, they do charge an awful lot for a service that is essentially 3 minutes of data entry with no consideration of the educational context of your transcript. They sent me a timely preview of my GPA, which was surprisingly low. They told me what scale they used to calculate it, and I informed them that their scale did not correspond to the one used by my university (which I sent over as a PDF). This was no small problem: a GPA that is blatantly incorrect by .06 to .35 points makes a huge difference on graduate applications. Their response to my university's official conversion document? "...our grade scale is what it is and the best we can do is reach the GPA I have already informed you of. If this will not be sufficient you are more than welcome to check any other NACES member." Sure! Great! "If you don't like the fact that our (very expensive) evaluation will be incorrect - and we acknowledge that it is - you can just leave." Avoid. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!. This is my first Yelp review since I am really frustrated with this company so I can share with other people to not make the same mistake I did. I file a request and they send me a pdf package confirming that those were all the documents they would translate and certify. I confirm that in that package were all the documents I needed. I got just half of them translated. I had to file a new request, pay again and wait again for the other documents. And if I wanted to cancel the request, I had to pay an extra $50. They are not helpful and they are not willing to help if there's a mistake from their side. Do not waste your money on this company!!! read more

They did a review of my foreign college credentials. Outstanding service. They have a great system for uploading all files, and they do a great job of keeping in contact via email. They are also very fast, and completed my complex review of a BS and two post graduate degrees in one week. The "industry leader" for these types of services is WES. The service they provide is horrendous, with many horror stories from past customers. They will routinely take peoples money and do nothing in return. Very strange that so many colleges mandate their use. After extensive research of other service providers, I believe FIS is by far the best option for evaluation of your foreign educational credentials. Although I usually try to read yelp reviews before choosing between business, I've never bothered to post a review until now. I am exceptionally happy with the services provided by FIS. I interviewed for a job that had a very short and small hiring window, and required me to submit proof of a master's degree completed in Europe. I had approximately five business days to prove that my master's degree was the equivalent of one earned in the United States. Two whole pay grades depended on showing, quickly, whether my educational credentials were legitimate. FIS allowed me to submit my documents electronically, and I paid extra to have the documents evaluated quickly and for physical copies to be mailed as well. FSI provided, by email, the evaluation and documentation in less than 24 hours. The mailed documents, sealed in additional envelopes, came by Fed-Ex within 48 hours. Their website was quick and easy, and one of the few that would allow me to submit electronic versions to boot. They did exactly what they said they would. read more

Back in 2012 before joining military, my recruiter used FIS for reevaluation of my Bachelor's degree from overseas. My recruiter told me everything went fine when I picked up my original documents , so I didn't check evaluation at that time because they were able to add my degree into the system. Recently I have received an email from Army HR saying that my evaluation is not valid because there were several discrepancies found. So the biggest one was my name. One of the paragraphs in the evaluation mentioned a completely different person. So from my understanding they just have a template where they change the names. That's completely fine with me but it was a one page evaluation.(the basic one). I can't understand if it would have been hard to check it several times before sending it back. So I contacted them through email asking to fix it and they couldn't. They wanted me to do a new application for the reevaluation which I think is nonsense. And of course I have to pay for it.(Although I didn't pay the first time but I am pretty sure Army did.) You did a poor job first time and you think I am going to use your services again? read more
