Despite consistently paying more than required monthly payments, we're still paying off this system nearly a decade later. We took out a loan for a patio and fence at 12.9%. After paying on the loan faithfully for 11 months thus far, the loan amount has not decreased. In fact, it has increased!!! Also, after talking to a representative, we were told that our loan was for 20 years. We were not told this because we don't need 20 years to pay for a fence and patio. At this rate we would be paying but 200% in interest. This is ridiculous!!! My husband found out about this while checking his credit report. Otherwise, we would have never known because the loan comes out automatically. We are getting a lawyer. This company is a rip off--starting with the contractors who are a part of this company. The company intentionally sets a low monthly payment, so that you are paying longer on a loan. I pay more than the monthly payment and my loan is not decreasing. It's been 5 years and so far it appears I have only paid $2,000 on a $10,000 loan. The company also placed a UCC loan on my house without telling me even though I had been making payments. The contractor in Nolanville, Texas was a quick talking salesman who proved to be unethical. If I could give 0 stars I would! I work for a construction company and we were looking to get finance for your clients. We signed up to become dealers with Foundation and it was off to a good start. We had multiple clients that applied and were approved. When it came down to actually getting funded, this is where the nightmare begins. I was the one in charge of the dealer portal, and they have sport of a check list that needed to be done where they would ask for you to submit different documents depending on each client. I had one client that had pretty much everything checked off. They made their final verification call and then asked us to submit the client's invoice. I submitted... waited and nothing. I called, left voicemails, then finally a few days later I was able to reach someone and they said they haven't reviewed the invoice yet and that they will get to it soon. Next day, I checked to see if everything cleared so that we can get funded, only to find out all the checked boxes were unchecked and they now needed a whole other list of documents. I called again and spoke to a manager. They said that the client didn't "qualify" anymore and they pulling back their loan. They didn't even have the audacity to call and notify me or the client. I had to call them to get this information. This left us scrambling, trying to figure out what to do because the job was complete and the client now had no way of paying us. Mind you, this was a 70k loan. How do you approve someone and go through all the steps only to reject them once they ask for their money??? The worst part is, we had three different clients that were expecting funding around the same time and they kept throwing us curveballs and giving us bs excuses for why they can't fund the loan just yet. As predicted, Andrea knew exactly what promotion I was referring to and still chose not to directly answer the question at hand, which was why anyone would be told to pay $9720 ($810/12 months) on an $8700 loan that was zero interest for 12 months. The fact that you and your agents are trained to pedantically explain how interest repayment works when you don't pay by the end of a promotional period is ridiculous. The customer service agent was told the amount would be paid in full long before the end of the promotional period and the figure given was STILL more than what was owed in that time frame. She would have never accepted this offer if the full terms had been explained to us, which is what I suspect the goal is for a predatory company. To anyone reading I suggest you decline setting up payments before you get to read the fine print on the terms and conditions. We finally got the paperwork today that confirmed the payments included interest from day 1 and decided to go ahead and take the hit to savings by paying the entire amount off and avoiding future business with your company any longer for fear of you putting a lien on the property without our knowledge, like nearly every review between Yelp and BBB states. Was suppose to have a $8k job funded today to us, but after speaking to them, found out we would get paid at some point but cannot say when, could be one week or several weeks. This now confirms that they have been making interest upon interest and not even using there own money to fund these deals. Basically we as a contractor assume the risk and they are on the fence to pay us at will. This is really shitty way to treat contractors who advertise financing on your behalf and pay a fee to offer it, then basically screw us over in a crisis time. They place a UCC lein on your house/title and don't tell you that when you take a loan out with them. Only found out about this when I tried to refinance my house. Then they wouldn't transfer/subordinate it during the refinance unless they were paid off. Wasn't pleased that I was just informed from a third party March 2021 that foundation finance put a lean on my house. I've made on time payments and my accounts are current. When I called customer service they informed me that the lean was put on April 2020 and that per contact they can put a lean on anytime they want. Now 10 months later they randomly reported a late payment (which they said they were not going to do) and it dropped our score 123 points! I had no problem with foundation finance until I wanted to pay off my balance so I didn't incur finance charges it was a promotional interest was free. I paid on time but my payment didn't go through and I was never contacted about the issue I noticed it when I was sent a bill with finance charges. I called them and they agreed to remove finance charges so just make sure you keep all your paperwork until every payment has been processed. read more

I have excellent credit and was granted a loan for remodelling through People's Products, Foundation Finance has screwed up several times. The person who confirmed the loan and "installation" never did what she said she would do on my behalf. She only seemed interested in getting a one time / beginning payment. She did not make the loan due at the first of each month and she did not set up auto pay as requested by sending me the "paperwork" they needed to. I called them on 6/23/2020 and asked where my loan information was...I am not allowed to set up autopay online. Spoke with Amanda, she said she would send out a "consent letter" required by state of Mass - its 7/8 and it was not received. Spoke with Maria just now, explained above, got lame apologies and had to go through all over again what I did with the first representative! Maria did not speak accurately when she asked if I wanted to set up a payment - when I was asking for a monthly debit and not a one time auto pay. We got that cleared up and supposedly the paperwork is coming out to me and she set up what the other two could not - a monthly payment at the first of each month. Awful. Waste my time. I don't get paid to take care of their business. Having to sacrifice margin to get work from homeowners and offer financing that costs fees further reducing margins. Now funding is 'delayed' indefinitely. There is no option on their website to paydown principal. If I have some extra cash I try to pay down my the principal on my loans. With my mortgage and car payments, along with my monthly payments it allows me to make an extra principal payment. Foundation Finance doesn't have that, they tack on any extra to future payments, so I may be 4 month ahead on payments, but I'm not really paying down my principal early. This sucks! Lenders like this just want to bleed people dry, by not giving you a chance to get out of debt. read more

We've had a loan with this company for over 3 years. The initial balance was just under 15k for window replacements. We paid more than the minimum balance every month, about 200/mo. My spouse noticed our balance was still around 11,500. I called to determine what the interest rate was and was told it was about 1.5pct, compounded DAILY! So 93 or our 200 was going to interest! As I called- Foundation was quick to respond with a typical corporate response making sure to say they adhere to guidelines. I'll have to find my paperwork and show the terms and conditions which are vague. It's not just me saying the same thing but multiple comments from others saying the same thing about their business practice. Foundation is hiding behind the word "adhere" to protect themselves. What I suggest is those having issues with Foundation to post photos of the terms. Can't argue with the paperwork. Representative replied with such a typical response which I knew they would. Don't fall for the corporate response of them adhering to guidelines. True, some comments are exaggerated but there is a lot of truth in them. Foundation does not provide clarity or material information upfront until something happens and without notice, this company places liens on your property. As I stated, I didn't know a lien was on my property until I go through the refinance process. When I called that's when they used their "right" and guidelines stating the terms are noted in the contract. No it's not. Haha- when you call them on it, this is where the tough guy by phone comes out. It's as if they get these calls a lot and go on auto- defensive mode. So for those wanting solar, HVAC etc....ask who the company uses for lenders. If Foundation is one, STAY AWAY!! In response to foundation's reply to my first review (as replies are not allowed)... Yes, as stated we believed we had recieved the contract. As we've never seen Foundations contracts, who were we to know the difference? And what you state in a recorded call does NOT nean you followed through as a company. You have several recorded calls with me asking for loan documents. You recorded yourselves saying I would have paper and email copies sent. I recieved neither. What we originally thought was the contract was a copy of the application and apparently a cover letter of the contract. It stated NOTHING about a lien except it being used in 2 states. We lived in neither. I talked to several people at foundation finance. I was told by each that I would receive copies of the contract and statements of how my payments were applied. That was months ago. Still no documentation was recieved, after those several recorded phone calls. And the promotion was delayed payments for several months. It was unrelated to placing a lien on my home and not applying my additional payments, as was the complaint in my original review. It's now only resolved because we ended up refinancing the loan balance from Foundation Finance into our mortgage to be rid of foundation finance's questionable billing practices and their ridiculous lien. Basically we gave up, made plan B, and walked away with zero of our savings left and a higher balance on our refinanced mortgage. I will add that even the lawyer handling the closing and lien was dissatisfied with the communication and behavior coming from foundation finance during the refinance process. They fully expected we may have to take further steps to prove the loan was paid in full based on those conversations. I was not a part of those conversations, but I did eventuality recieve a letter in the mail about 2 months later stating the loan was paid in full. My husband and I have held loans from several mortgages, cars, banks, and renovation projects over the last 20 years. This one was the worst. And after reading the reviews during this process, I realized that I wasn't alone. I recommend securing your own loan through ANY other means instead of using Foundation Finance. read more

These assholes SENT SOMEONE TO MY HOUSE and taped a blank envelope to my door with Foundation Finance written inside of it in pen WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK... so creepy.
