Midwestern Risk Advisors purchased Hempfer Insurance in Wausau Wisconsin. We are focused on a long-term strategy of adding value for you, the customer, rather than generating the next commission. Meet the Manager: Jim L.

Jim Leatzow, our CEO, brings an outstanding insurance pedigree that combines successful creative vision, insurance program development, agency management and expert/consulting experience developed over decades of involvement in the industry. Throughout his unique 40+ year career, Jim has owned numerous successful insurance endeavors, including a national agency, a reinsurance company, a managing general agency (MGA), a third-party administrator (TPA) claims handling facility, plus an insurance litigation consultancy. Additionally Jim is certified in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union and Bermuda as an insurance arbitrator. He consults with Departments of Insurance and testifies as an expert on agency and producer standards of care, claims handling standards of care and industry best practices. Jim is frequently retained nationally by law firms to consult on property, casualty, professional liability, surety, and errors and omissions insurance coverages.
