Definitely a drink I will come back for. They also have your classic beach drinks too, including margaritas, pina coladas, and daiquiris. If you are looking for food, they serve food fresh from St Paul's Fish Market!

The place…read morehas a fantastic atmosphere and location, and aside from all the sirens flying by on North Ave that evening they had a very chill and hip vibe, featuring lots of interesting 'tikiana', ropes of faux hibiscus, and other tiki regalia in their decor, as well as some great music to back it up (but needs more reggae or tiki-related tunes). Food was 7 out of 10. I went for the Korean BBQ tacos, and my friend ordered the Jambalaya. The tacos might have been even better with flour tortillas, as I wasn't crazy about the corn (?) tortillas used; they were kinda soft and kinda crispy, which made them kinda odd (maybe give customers a choice of either/or?). However the BBQ beef and tangy sauce were delicious, juicy and drippy! My friend enjoyed her Jambalaya, mentioning that she really liked the shrimp, and the sausage had a bit of a 'kick' to it (as all good Jambalaya should). We had an order of their 'crack fries' as well, which are aptly named; once we started digging in, it was hard to stop! (I recommend the Ranch dipping sauce). Waitstaff was wonderful, very cheerful and attentive. However, our cocktails lacked a certain...something. While the size of the drinks were substantial, we both remarked they seemed quite bland for their size. Not sure if they needed more flavoring syrup, more alcohol, or less ice (btw, they have great ice!), but overall, there just didn't seem to be any real flavor to the drinks (2 types of Mojitos), so we were a bit disappointed there. Overall, it was a pleasant evening at the whimsically named Wauwatiki; we look forward to checking them out again soon!

Even though Id idnt get a drink, my friend and I did order some food. She got the fried rice with shrimp and I got the fries with spicy aioli. The fries were seasoned with a sweet and salty mix. I thought it was very on theme for the tiki bar. The spicy aioli was not too spicy but definetely brought another flavor element to the fries. Now I didnt really like the fried rice. I thought it lacked flavor despite having ingredients like pineapple and edamame. It just tasted like onions to me. I wish the soy sauce flavor had come through more. It just didn't hit that tropical feel I hoped it would. I did LOVE the egg. The yolk definetely helped add a texture to the fried rice that made it more enjoyable for me. I would try the food again next time I come to try those mojitos hahah!! This place is definitely very cute and aesthetic. I would absolutely invite more girl friends to come here for drinks.

Plus, a 1:30 pm brunch reservation is definitely my kind of brunch. The atmosphere inside is awesome, with old school TVs with built in VCRs lining the walls. Our server was very attentive and super helpful in showing us the new menu. He even promised satisfaction with our Hawaiian roll cinnamon bun or he would get us something different, which was so nice of him! We came specifically to try the Dad's 2 cents Weekend Brunch. That is right, 2 cents! What a deal for a can of Spotted Cow. Just a heads up for anyone going, don't forget that you have to buy an entree to qualify for the beer special! As for the rest of our order, my wife got the Salted Caramel shake. She said it was a little too sweet with loads of whip cream, but she really liked the Hawaiian roll cinnamon buns. We split the Fried Chicken & Old Fashioned Gravy Buns. It was good, not amazing, but the vibes and the drink specials totally make up for it. Someone else in our family got the brunch burger and it looked amazing! Bottom line: come for the atmosphere and drink specials, not necessarily the food, but we still enjoyed it lots. Next time I am definitely going to try a smasher, maybe on a 99 cents Wednesday smashburger special!

We sat in the Gremlin section - the whole place is a nod to 80s pop culture, with memorabilia and big screen projections of stuff like Scooby Doo and the Power Rangers. They have a 2 cent beer special at brunch where you can get up to 3 Spotted Cows with each entree purchased - a bargain for sure! They also have a martini special - go to the website for details. We started with the churro doughnut holes - decadent and so, so, soooo sweet, served with whipped cream with jimmies. They were good, but not for the sweet intolerant. I had the house vegetarian breakfast burrito with bespoke veggie sausage, It was huge and good, a comfort food for sure, but no one flavor stood out in it. It was sort of generic comfort, like a hug from an acquaintance. Spouse had a new dish to the menu - chilequilies with pulled pork. He really enjoyed the dish, finishing the whole generous portion pretty quickly. Our friends had variations on breakfast sandwiches - chicken with gravy and the big breakfast sandwich, which they seemed to enjoy quite a bit. They definitely wanted to return. I hear that the tots were good. I enjoyed the place and would certainly come back if there wasn't so much competition in the market. Everything was solid, just not as special as the locale promises.
