I was long overdue for a regular women's check-up, but until my experience with Dr Ringhoffer's…read moreoffice, I abhorred going to OB/GYNs. A friend of mine got fed up with her regular OB/GYN and she switched to Dr Ringhoffer. She told me what a wonderful doctor she is and how she listened to her, made suggestions as to a few treatment options, and within a couple of weeks, resolved medical problems her other doctor let linger for several months. I decided to make an appointment to go see her, and luckily, my friend was right about her. I had a great experience too. First of all, the staff is very efficient. They got me scheduled within a week, and I only waited about 3-5 minutes in the lobby after completing my paperwork. Shortly after being put in a room, Dr Ringhoffer came in and discussed my medical history, left while I changed, then came back in and completed my exam. She was the most gentle doctor I can ever recall seeing. Afterward, one of the nurses drew blood for a thyroid check. Now I'm not ashamed to admit that I panic like a five year old when I see a needle, but that nurse was a magic woman with that needle and I hardly felt it at all. When it was all said and done, I was in and out of her office within an hour. Today, a week later, they received all of my lab results and called to tell me everything looks good. When I say I was overdue, it had been over 8 years. That's never a good idea to wait that long, I know. I was exasperated. I'd spent years going to OB/GYNs and telling them what was going on, only to be given prescriptions for birth control pills and be sent on my way. I eventually solved those issues on my own by doing research and taking specific vitamins, and I don't have all the side effects that go along with birth control pills. My friend's prior doctor had been doing her the same way, and had her on two different kinds of birth control at the same time, and it still wasn't solving her problems. As I mentioned, Dr Ringhoffer was able to resolve it quickly. If you're searching for a new doctor for any reason, whether you're new in town, or you're tired of pill-pushing doctors and doctors that won't listen to you, I highly recommend going to see Dr Ringhoffer. She broke the stereotype I had about OB/GYNs, and if she can change MY mind, that says a lot about the quality and professionalism of her and her staff. In fact, I think I'll start going to see her annually like I'm supposed to do. One last thing - there are several buildings in that complex and her building is next door to the Emergency Room.

Staff was very helpful and made me feel comfortable! Dr. Ringhoffer made sure all of my needs and…read moreconcerns were addressed. I definitely feel I made the right choice in choosing a new OBGYN.

My experience with Dr. Gallaspy and his office was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I came…read morein with legitimate health concerns and asked for a simple referral to an endocrinologist so I could have a wrist bone age X-ray evaluated. This is a very standard medical request, yet the office repeatedly refused and gave confusing and incorrect explanations. I was told multiple times that "he doesn't do X-rays," even though I clearly explained that I was asking for a referral so a specialist could evaluate me and order imaging if necessary. Instead of listening, the staff kept repeating the same misunderstanding and dismissing my request. It felt like no one in the office was actually hearing what I was saying. My interaction with Latoya in the back office made the situation even worse. The tone was extremely condescending and dismissive, and it felt like my concerns were being brushed off rather than taken seriously. Dr. Gallaspy ultimately did the bare minimum by agreeing to check estrogen levels after I had to push for it, but refused the endocrinology referral I requested and said the wrist X-ray was "not indicated." Meanwhile, birth control was pushed during the visit despite my concerns being about hormonal and growth evaluation. Patients should not have to argue just to be heard or ask repeatedly for reasonable medical requests. After this experience, I will be finding a new primary care physician who is willing to actually listen to patients and help coordinate appropriate care.

Dr. Lauren Self was super! She was personable, she was thorough with explaining what she was…read morethinking in terms of bloodwork, and she was fast with the routine exams. I arrived early to my appointment and filled out the necessary paperwork as a new patient. I was called back in 10 minutes or less. Sharon was fast and friendly with vitals and recording my medical history. There are signs posted in the office's main lobby that if you have been waiting for 20 minutes or longer to let staff know. After my exams with Dr. Self, I was sent to the back waiting area for bloodwork. After waiting 35-40 minutes, I had apologized to Husband via text that he was waiting on me for so long, but all I was waiting for was the lab tech to draw my blood which is a fast process. He mentioned this to the front desk for me, and they were super prompt on getting this addressed so I was seen right away. I would refer anyone to see Dr. Self!

This review is for Dr. Grinstead specifically. I know several women who have went to her for years…read more(I do know of someone who really had a horrible experience too), so she is pretty popular. But for me, she was very judgmental and not helpful at all. She laughed in my face when I told her I didn't want children (after she asked) and wanted to know what my husband wanted. Kind of insulting because obviously we are in agreement as a married couple and regardless, it is MY body and ultimately MY decision to have a baby or not. I also expressed concern that I could have endometriosis since I have family history and horrible, painful, heavy periods. She told me she could do nothing about it. For a Harvard educated doctor, that blew me away, because obviously you can do a lap to check for endo lesions and remove them. It's like she didn't care to help me. I switched over to Dr. Krueger at Azalea City, who told me upon first appointment that she would schedule the surgery for me whenever I wanted. That's how a doctor should be. Dr. Grinstead may be fine if you're having a baby or don't mind a doctor who tries to impose their more traditional values on you...but she had a horrible bedside manner to me. You shouldn't be laughing at patient's life decisions and you should care if they are in pain. Definitely don't go if you're worried about having endometriosis!

I've been coming here for just over 10 years. Dr. Trammell is phenomenal. She delivered my last two…read morechildren (ages 9 and 6) and tied my tubes after the last birth due to medical necessity. She also was the one to work with me through a plethora of tests to finally diagnose me with cervical cancer two years ago. My oncologist finally felt like my condition was at a point where I could add Dr. Trammell back into the rotation of my care again, and so today was my annual checkup for breast exam and Pap smear. She came into the room and immediately hugged me and asked how I was doing, like "really" doing. We talked about everything that's happened with me health (and family life, because she likes to build relationships with her patients) and talked about my cancer treatments - what they were like, how they felt, and their after effects. She is so genuinely caring. She sits and listens, asks questions and takes in the answers. She truly has your best interests in mind. She is gentle and explains what she's doing as she does the exams so that there are no surprises. Her staff is kind and caring. Wait times aren't long at all. The offices and patient exam rooms are clean and have been recently remodeled with new paint and decor. Artwork made by her kids at school and family photos hang proudly in each exam room and it just shows how down to earth and family oriented she is. If you're in the market for a new OB/GYN, I highly recommend Dr. Trammell.

Stay away! Dr. Quin…read moreBixler kept pushing me for a hysterectomy for abnormal post menopausal bleeding. First a Radical and then after I researched and came back, she said total but refused other treatments. She had not performed a biopsy or ultrasound in well over a year. She got "nasty" for being challenged and rather than answer my thoroughly researched questions, she just said other options were "old medicine" and then called them "bad medicine." She was immature and unprofessional!Without divulging too much more, I have found a wonderful doctor who thinks I am a perfect candidate for ablation and sees no need for hysterectomy unless it doesn't take, which he believes is highly unlikely. Shame on you Dr. Bixler! This office is just out to make money from your insurance company! My new doctor is awesome, and appreciated well thought questions. He was amazed at my knowledge and pleased to address all of my concerns in a professional manner, rather than acting like his toes had been stepped on! Surgery is no laughing matter and should never be taken lightly. Don't go here! Fairhope AL is a short drive to see someone at Medical Park OB/GYN!!! Dr. Gary Nelson!!!!
