This place is Ireland's largest purpose built arts centre. More than 50,000 a year come to this arts space to enjoy drama, music, comedy and dance performances. Thousands more visit the two exhibition galleries that feature the works of national and international artists. There is a bar and a cafe here too for all your interval needs. Overall this really is a great arts space and one that is well used and well needed.

The stepped design means no one should be able to block your view unless they are incredibly tall or wearing obnoxious head apparel. There is a little bar/restaurant area and the whole thing is relaxed and makes for an enjoyable experience.

This is great for the local children and children from other areas as it gives them a place to bring out their star qualities! Ballymun is sending out the next lot of superstars! I have been at the theatre for the odd pantomine and the last one i went to was so hilarious, the panto while for the children has enough adult content to keep the grown us happy and laughing along. And the cost is only a fraction of what it would cost in the more fancier theatres in the city center.

Parking is quite difficult or at least tricky in that area... even they advice to give them a ring to get advice on where is best to park your car but they do have underground parking facilities on event nights. Anyway Axis does LOADS of stuff, it's not just a theatre. What I've experienced is the underground studio for musicians which has a recording studio and 2 rehearsal rooms of decent size. Very cheap, 10€ an hour, though they do need to get their act together with the booking process because for a while the receptionist pretended to take bookings over the phone but actually nothing was done!!!), there's a drumming set, 2 guitar amps and 1 bass amp, 1 PA system and 2-3 mics (plus a keyboard in one of the rooms). If you're interested in music rehearsal, dance or art projects, I think it's worth checking this place out.

The interval drinks are served in the bookshop, providing an intellectual backdrop for your half-time analysis. Or, you know, for eying up the other audience members. The theatre itself is an intimate space - you should have a pretty good view of the stage wherever you're seated. The prices are a bit lower than in the larger Dublin theatres, and you'll get to see something a bit different. A charming little venue, worth checking out.

It's a small, intimate space theatre that exhibits small theatre companies on a rotating basis. It's definitely worth popping by to see what is on offer as it's always something topical and definitely a nice change from the bigger productions at the Abbey. There's a one man play on now until the 20th. In it he explores child abuse in the industrial school system. While this might be quite a grim topic it's quite intriguing to see what the playwright has done with the material.

Still a nice enough place to grab a drink before the show. The theatre itself is very intimate with about 7 rows and seats about 50 people. Brooks Private Cinema - yet another cool slightly unknown gem in Dublin! It's a private theater…read morebased in a lovely hotel! Tired of the megaplex experience? Love classic films? Like the idea of a bar a few steps away from the 'silver screen'? Want a huge comfy seat to go with that popcorn? Step right up - get your tickets folks! This place gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up! There are about 20+ huge and incredibly comfortable seats in this private cinema. There's also popcorn and pelligrino to go with your ticket (or a cocktail if you prefer for a few euro more). And, the films shown are those cool classics of yesterday (like Dracula and Jaws)! You're even welcome to send recommendations to them for future films via Facebook! The cinema is in a great location too - steps from downtown Grafton Street! And, the hotel that holds this private gem is actually a nice spot to enjoy a pre- or post-film cocktail. (There's a comfortable lounge or you can grab a stool at the smaller bar which I prefer...) The popcorn was served in a little cute box and you could pick your own drink off the table. Staff were great and the hotel looks nice. If there was one thing for me to fault and I'm probably being picky but it's that the website doesn't seem up to date with the amount of tickets available. When I tried to buy mine it said there were 6 available but I was put on a waiting list. Other than that the experience overall was fantastic and I would definitely go back!

We went to the Batman movie on Friday and I have to say one thing about the Square Cinema............ HALLELUJA!!!!!! THE BUTTER POPCORN IS BACK!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!! This was for years the last bastion of butter popcorndom until they realised everyone was wiping their hands on the seats and the cinema slowly rotted away. The one thing I have to take one star away is because they must have bought the seats in the same place as Ryanair. They are flip down seats with a gap in the back which you could fit a small dog through. Skinny people beware you might never be found again! Anyway; Its nice and new, its clean, the staff have obviously been trained to be courteous to customers (unlike the dopes you get in another Southside Cinema) and it is back to being an alternative cinema best of luck to them.

IMI gave it a complete make over and updated the screens to digital. It reopened in the early part of 2012 The decor and the lightning in the corridor area and the screening rooms is very impressive and modern which creates a very pleasant and nice ambience . Perfect for watching a good movie! The nicest I have seen in Dublin. The seats are very spacious and comfy . You get 5 hours free parking if you ask / give your parking ticket to the person who checks the ticket as you go in . The price is very reasonable 7 euro before 7 monday to friday. For students , its is 7 euro anytime and 5 euro every tuesday ! Myself and my friends were impressed with this cinematic experience! :)
