Used English books as well, I believe. A little tricky to find from memory, but actually convenient to the center. I always oriented myself from the Virgin Megastore (which, by the way, has nowhere near the selection of English books).

We were able to get books for my sons and ourselves - they have everything here, all in English, just in case you didn't pack enough to read while you're traveling. Prices are a bit high, but totally what you'd expect for English books in a non-English speaking country, and they always have a great selection of books at half-price. We went to Book in Bar several times during our two-week stay in Aix, and there were always expats, students, and travelers sitting with their computers, sipping a coffee, and enjoying the vibe.

To my amusement I discovered that this shop/cafe has an extensive English selection, but I had no problem finding some smart looking French volumes to read as I sipped my superb coffee. The ambiance was thoughtful, the service was friendly, and I'd happily go back there on my next trip through Aix.
