That alone was disappointing, but the follow-up was worse. Their owner, Jennifer Shaw, responded days later with hostility, dishonesty, and a complete lack of professionalism. (which I'm sure she will do in this review as well) Even more disturbing was the bartending team, outsourced by Corn Fed. The lead bartender harassed me and others for a pre-service gratuity throughout the evening--even interrupting me moments before I walked down the aisle. They argued with our planner, complained to guests, and shut down the bar nearly an hour early. I've worked in event management for over two decades and have never experienced such blatant disrespect from a vendor. Despite the efforts of a kind catering staff, I cannot in good conscience recommend either of these vendors.

They offer board making classes the next one is 9/10/26. They rent out their space for events and parties, and will even cater on site parties. You can drop in and pick up boards of various sizes at anytime. This would be a great date night spot. The classes look like so much fun! Charcuterie boards can be so boring and stale if not thoughtfully designed, and obviously the freshness of the ingredients is of utmost importance. Too often with charcuterie boards you get that refrigerated taste/smell from something that's been sitting uncovered in a fridge for too long. But these boards were super-well-wrapped until time to eat. There is clearly a lot of care put into each board, and so many beautiful, quality ingredients. These particular grazing boards had a variety of 4 cheeses (like a pistachio crusted goat cheese, sharp cheddars, brie, and habanero pepper), 2 meats (salami arranged like a rose and capicola on the side), a handful of nuts (pistachios or almonds), salty cornichons or olives, plump fruit (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and grapes), wafer-y crackers, a piece of foil-wrapped chocolate, and a tiny glass jar of local honey or jam. And a sprinkling of vibrant, edible flower petals. It's really very pretty, bountiful, and colorful. See my photos! I'd say these specific boards are a great size for 2-4 people to share. The Art of Grazing's website has all the info on their different boards.. lots of sizes, crudités or cheeses or meats or combos, holiday themes and specials. Since The Bastion does not have a LWB license, we supplied our own favorite wines which saved us a lot of our budget allowing us to go with a higher end hors d'oeuvre menu. She came up with a perfect menu of hors d'oeuvres that encompassed all our favorite foods. When our big night was upon us, we were beyond excited to celebrate. Then when we inquired as to if the restaurant was going to reopen, they said no, electricity wouldn't be back on for the rest the day, but they did not inform us until we asked. The food may be good but we didn't get a chance to experience that or the atmosphere of the inside of the restaurant. This was our first visit and we're contemplating if we will ever go back.
