Our room was pretty small, our bed was a bit lumpy, our view was of the back roof of the hotel and some other buildings behind the hotel. Our shower had an issue where it wouldn't drain, they seemed to have fixed that by the second night which was good as we were worried about it overflowing if we took too long a shower. The meals were pretty good, overall, "OK".

I mentioned I didn't want my room serviced. When I got back this evening, the room was in the same condition, but mysteriously cookies had reappeared on my desk. Sneaky. Tasty. I'll pretend that didn't break my request. So Weigh Inn has a lot of buildings. Your room might be on one of the upper floors above the bar, or in the U-shaped cabins behind that, or one of the other long buildings to the west. The Internet was a little spotty in my room - it works well enough to type this review but not enough for me to do my daily gaming and comics ritual. My room also has beds a little firmer than I like - starting to believe that's a British thing - so I stacked some comforters on it and made it work. The main reason for the star reduction is that I can hear all the outside sounds too well in here - not enough soundproofing. Waiting to press enter 'til I take my shower and head out the door in the morning, just so they don't stop by and offer more cookies to make this 5 stars instead of 4. (I love the... okay, they're "biscuits", not cookies... but gotta keep the review real!) And now I must deduct more stars because I could not shower. The shower head allows only boiling or freezing - I turned it as little as possible and it still hit that barrier. So I couldn't shower, barely have Internet, hear all the sounds in my room, hard uncomfortable bed... all the nice service in the world can't solve these issues :(

We only spent a night at the Borgie Lodge Hotel while travelling the North Coast 500 route…read more We particularly enjoyed having a drink in the spacious lounge before our delicious dinner (the lamb steak was really good). The breakfast, scrambled eggs with salmon in my case, was also really tasty. The rooms themselves are mid size and well equipped, and internet connection is fast when available. The only issue we had was that one of the rooms had a separate bathroom, which was not always available, because sometimes guests who had one on their own used it, too. It may also need some refurbishment at some point, possibly removing the carpets to have it easier to clean. However, the others staying at bathrooms within the room had no complaints at all.
